Young's Jersey Dairy
6880 Springfield-Xenia Rd.,
Yellow Springs,
Ohio 45387
Young's Jersey Dairy is a real, operating farm. They started small and have expanded their operations in the last 5 years. They have 2 restaurants. One is a large family style restaurant and the other is smaller with sandwiches and ice cream. Both are kid-friendly.
In addition to their delicious ice cream (made on-site), they also have Putt-Putt Golf and a driving range. The animals are always happy to see people and you can buy food to feed them.
You can spend as much or as little time as you wish touring the grounds and eating ice cream. An insider tip-if you eat in the smaller restaurant, don't stand in the long ice cream line. Go to the shorter food lines- You can buy ice cream there too! Don't forget the carryout!

National Museum of the Air Force
1100 Spaatz Street ,
Dayton,
Ohio 45433
The Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio has something for kids of all ages. One of the best parts of the museum is that it is free. The museum has a scavenger hunt for the kids (ages about 7-12). Grandpa and grandma will love sharing stories about their life as they view some of the older planes. Lots of war information and a great section about the Holocaust, with video clips from people who lived through that horrible ordeal.
There are planes you can walk through and many video clips to hold everyone's attention. The museum is very large so prepare for lots of walking. There is a cafeteria there and you can even buy Moon ice cream.
The Imax theater is in the same building but it is not free.
You can spend as much time as you want in the museum as it is very rarely crowded and there are plenty of volunteers available to answer questions. A must see if you are ever in Ohio!

Rocky Mountain National Park
1000 Highway 36,
Estes Park,
Colorado 80517
Traveling to the highest point in the Rocky Mountains National Park can be nerve-wracking if you are the driver. But the kids will love the breath-taking views off the side of the mountain. You can drive to the observatory from May-September. You ride right on the edge of the mountains. The wildlife along the way is amazing. Elk, goats and possibly bear! The top affords a view like no other. When we were there in June the temperature at the bottom was 80 degrees. At the top, the kids were throwing snowballs at each other! Great for an impromtu science lesson.
For the athletic and energetic in the crowd, you can climb steps even higher up into the air. Grandma and grandpa can relax in the warm visitor center while the kids burn off some energy. Camping is available for those who wish to make a vacation out of the trip.

Comfort Inn Loveland
1500 N. Cheyenne Ave,
Loveland, Colorado
Loveland Colorado is about one hour north of Denver. It is centrally located to many great vacation spots. The Comfort Inn in Loveland is very reasonably priced. They have a workout room, great free breakfast (hot waffles) a reward program and a large indoor pool. Some of the rooms have refrigerators and microwaves for quick lunches. The rooms are very clean and the staff goes out of their way to help with any little concern. Great place to stay!
