Morro Bay Farmer's Market
Main Street and Morro Bay Blvd,
Morro Bay,
California 93442
"Farmer's Market"
We love this small town farmer's market. The entire market is two blocks long and fun for the family. Come pick up your local fruit and veggies and enjoy some of the food vendors as well (kettle corn, vegan cafe, chai tea, etc). This is a great stop to make if you are already spending the day on the embarcadero. Keep in mind that this is a much smaller version of the famer's market in SLO so keep your expectations reasonable. With that said, we go every Saturday (starts at 2:30).

"Awesome Vegan Cafe!"
Shine Cafe located in Sunshine Market (health food store) is a wonderful stop for vegetarian and vegan families. The menu is fantastic and reasonably priced. We love the Spring Rolls and Tempeh Tacos. The seating is limited inside but there are more tables out front. We just love this small town market and our 3.5 year old loves to visit the bulk bins on the way out!

Natural Cafe
Higuera Street,
San Luis Obispo,
California
"Natural cafe"
We love Natural Cafe because it is conveniently located downtown and offers a large selection of vegetarian dishes. As a mom, I love the casual atmosphere. Often times we will pop in for a quick soy dog. My 3.5 year old is thrilled and I'm happy to have some healthy options. My only complaint is that service tends to be rather slow so it is sometimes difficult to keep the kids on good behavior before the food arrives.

"Ummm, yuck!"
My daughter loves to walk through bubble gum alley but I find it rather, well, gross. I'm not sure I would go out of my way to visit bubble gum alley but if you are already downtown SLO, you might as well give it a go. Kids seem to think it is great.

"SLO Mission"
We love the downtown Mission in San Luis Obispo. The landscape is beautiful and my 3.5 year old is particularly fond of the fountain. We spend almost each and every Friday evening (during the summer months) at music in the plaza. We pack a picnic dinner and enjoy some family time listening to music. I recommend that families sit in the back lawn area as this tend to be the "family zone" and kids are able to run freely. The event is free and it is a great way to get out with friends. The creek is also a lot of fun and of course we love to visit County Culture Yogurt for the best SLO yogurt around.
