The Doubletree Grand Hotel on Biscayne Bay | kids travel, kids activities
The Doubletree Grand Hotel on Biscayne Bay
1717 N Bayshore Dr,
Miami, Florida
"I would call it a business hotel"
Although providing the essentials and living up to its promise, I would call this more of a business hotel than a family hotel. If you're looking to be close to the beach and the action of South Beach, this is not the place as it is located a distance away, in downtown Miami. I believe this hotel is also a residential condo building as well, so it does offer a lot of services. Kids are welcome, but there's not much on-premesis to keep them excited. Spend a little extra and find a different hotel (maybe even one that's not as nice) to be closer to family activities.

Coconut Grove | kids travel, kids activities
Coconut Grove
East of Coral Gables at the south end of Bayshore Drive,
Miami,
Florida
"Worth a stop"
Coconut Grove is a typical shopping/entertainment district in Miami. There are great brand-name shops, but also local boutiques and restaurants/bars to enjoy as well. We love going to people watch, enjoy a cocktail or do a little shopping. We also spent a lot of time here at the bars watching the NCAA tournament a few years back and had a great time! There were fans from all over enjoying the weather, the fun, and the atmosphere.

The Westin Indianapolis | kids travel, kids activities
The Westin Indianapolis
50 S Capitol Ave,
Indianapolis, Indiana
"Good location/Easy access"
I have stayed at the Westin quite a few times for business. When nursing my son, he also traveled with me and we always had a great experience at this hotel. It is beautiful, well-maintained and clean. I always enjoy having a Starbucks on-site (in the lobby) and my child care provider loved being able to walk with my son over to the mall without having to go outside during the cold winter months. It's a beautiful hotel right in the heart of downtown Indianapolis and I would recommend it to anyone.

Batavia,

"Nice quick trip"
This is a nice, simple trip for your family. It's great to walk through the trails and enjoy the river. There are a lot of programs run through the park district that you can take advantage of, many of which cater to young kids. Take advantage of these programs to learn more about the area, the nature and the wildlife.

Graham’s Fine Chocolates and Ice Cream | kids travel, kids activities
Graham’s Fine Chocolates and Ice Cream
302 S 3rd St,
Geneva,
Illinois 60134
"Homey and delicious"
When I first visited Geneva, I fell in love with its character and beauty. Graham's epitomizes the town as a whole. There are two Graham's locations, actually. One sells their delicious homemade chocolates and ice cream, the other down the street is more of a coffee house, with pastries, desserts, coffee, and chocolate fondue! So good. Sit outside on the adirondack chairs and enjoy the people watching and your treats.
