Ghirardelli Square | kids travel, kids activities
Ghirardelli Square
900 North Point Street,
San Francisco,
California 94109
"ICE CREAM PARADISE"
This place has the best ice cream sundaes EVER! One will feed two children. Plus there is a smaller cafe like ice cream shop on the opposite side of Ghirardelli square if you're not interested in waiting for your ice cream and a table. If you go on a weekend or during the summer expect long wait times.

The Cannery
2801 Leavenworth Street,
San Francisco,
California 94133
"Just restaurants "
There is nothing kid friendly about this place. It is now full of overpriced restaurants and shops. I would stear clear of the Cannery and opt for Gherdelli square and the wharf. Pier 39 is just a few steps away. There is a bunch of candy shops near the cannery though, if you need some sweets.

"Really fun for boys"
This is a real aircraft carrier used in WWII. I took my husband just a month ago and he was just as giddy as a small school boy. There are so many things to see, you can even get into the captains chair. You can tour the kitchen, bunks, bathrooms, briefing room, planning room, among others. Plus its just fun to be on a boat.

"Beautiful Architecture"
This is a beautiful home, but only that. The tour requires lots of walking which is not always the best for young children. The pools are SPECTACULAR. I was even tempted to jump in as a child. A lovely place but go with patient children. If visiting check out the gardens as well .
