this is a wonderful place to take a walk and enjoy the scenary and explore the buildings, sculptures alonmg the way. Combine this adventure with somne letterboxing and kids will be sure to enjoy. if you have not discovered letterboxing go to letterboxing northamerica on the internet and discover a great way to enjoy the outdoors and learn map reading, critical thinking skills.

I wuld recommend this for kids 8 and up. I would take them to specific exhibits or sectionsa nd not try to dot he whole thing at once. I like to play "scavenger hunt" with kids, who can find a picture that has at least four shades of blue in it. Who can find a picture of a dog laying on a bed, who painted the picture. MAke up questions regarding the type of exhibit. This museum is manageable with kids unlike the Met in NYC

"Too hectic, too crowded"
For little kids this is not the spot. They won't be interested in the food, for school kids I still think it is too crowded and too many choices. For the teens they might like it. Too me there is too much in too small of a place. Young kids not in strollers might feel overwhelmed. There are too many other good things to do in Philly. Go without the kids if you must.

When visiting the stepkids this was a yearly visit. With each year their interests changed and we discovered something new . Highly recommend it. Dont go when it is too hot, some shade but there are many hot exposed areas. we especially enjoyed the lions and tigers. The staff are great, friendly and can manage the crowds.

"Great place for kids who learn by doing"
My granddaughter really enjoyed herself. I was in Park Slope so it was a bit of a tek and we got confused with the trolley on the way back but the visit was totally worhwhile. if you have an only child it is a great place for them to find like minded (kids) to play with. Would recommend for 6 and under.
