Mendocino Headlands State Park
Heeser Drive and Main Street,
Mendocino,
California 95460
"Magnificient 360 Degree Views"
Warning...there are no fences or rails on any parts of the trails, so keep a good grip on your children's hands and be VERY CAUTIOUS!!!!!!!! Awesome place for whale watching, rock adventures, jellyfish sightings, etc. You can walk, walk, and walk along these beautiful cliffs. You can also hike down the trails to rocky areas and beach areas. Back In town there are many shops, bakeries, and places to explore. The places to stay IN Mendocino are more Bed and Breakfast type places and the large Mendocino Hotel do not seem family friendly. There is a great place to eat where you can sit on the deck (when it is not too windy) and enjoy the views with some great food. I recommend the crab melt :)

Russian Gulch State Park
Highway 1,
Mendocino,

"Smaller State Campground"
This is one of the smaller state campgrounds in the Fort Bragg/Mendocino area. It has a SMALL private beach and a headlands area with a cool blowhole. The campground is kind of in a little canyon so. There are all sorts of trails for hiking, but beware of poison oak!! It has a little creek flowing through the park. It seems to get a little colder there than any of the other campgrounds in the area. Awesome place for abalone diving, and you will see many diving there because of this.

The Exploratorium
Palace of Fine Arts,
3601 Lyon Street,
San Francisco,
California 94123
The Exploratorium can be very overwhelming and very crowded. I recommend giving yourself a minimum of 4 hours to play around in this place, although it can also be an all day thing. Tons of interavtive fun hands on activities for kids of all ages. There are really great things for toddlers, but I think it is almost too much for them, especially when you are trying to get your money's worth. I would say it is best for ages 5+. I remember enjoying it myself for the first time as a teenager on an honor society fieldtrip.

AT&T Park
24 Willie Mays Plz ,
San Francisco,
California 94107
One of my favorite ball parks as an adult is also a fantastic ball park for kids. With slides, a build a bear workshop, the huge Coke bottle and baseball glove, a mini park and a view of the bay. I love just walking around the park before games. As with all major league parks, parking and food can get quite spendy so be prepared!! I would recommend taking the BART to avoid parking fees. Everything we have had to eat there has been fantabulous...especially the garlic fries. Now that the Giants are world champions I would expect tickect prices and seat availability to be harder to find a good deal. GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!

Bishops Pumpkin Farm
1415 Pumpkin Lane,
Wheatland,

"Best Pumpkin Patch Ever!!"
This is one of the places I look forward to visiting every October!! I recommend really planning your trip there and decide beforehand how much money your are wanting to spend. There are many things there that are free, like the petting zoo, old town, slides, hayrides, haytrampoline, etc. There are also many things to do that cost money. Train rides, pony rides, a really cool mountain thing, food for the animals at the petting zoo etc. There is so much to do there! Many people pack their own picnic lunches, but the food there is beyond awesome!! From huge cinnamon rolls, to tri tip chimichangas, garlic fries, turkey legs, and pies galore...there is something for everyone!! Not to mention there are several gift shops that are fantastic. One downfall is the fee for parking...I think it is $10. A great place for kids of all ages to have fun.
