New York Aquarium

"Nice, convenient, but could use a few improvements..."
This is a very nice aquarium, but it hasn't changed much in the last 15 years. There are plenty of different exhibits, my kids love the sharks and dolphins. We do not get to see the penguins much even though the kids love them because my older son is very sensitive to smell (sensory disorder). The shows here are great though, and the interactive area where they can handle the starfish and such is wonderful (I do wish this area was larger, it gets crowded in there very fast). Overall a nice aquarium, but could use a few improvements. Of course, being right next to Coney Island is a huge bonus!

Bronx Zoo
2300 Southern Boulevard,
Bronx,
New York
This is the best zoo I have ever been to by far! it is enormous, so plan on getting there early and spending the entire day- you still might miss some things. There are so many different animals to see, and tons of activities for the kids, and really the whole family! This is one place we have never left disappointed- and as a plus, the kids are always exhausted and go to bed with no fuss!

"Winter experience all should have!"
This is one of those places everyone should visit in the winter at least once in their lives! Whether a small child or adult, the lights and decorations, especially around Christmas, make the trip well worth it. Ice skating there is very crowded, but again well worth it. Just be prepared for the chaos, and keep your kids close, as it is very easy to get separated/lost here. Great pictures by the tree as well! Not much for kids the rest of the year, but there is plenty of shopping/great food year round.

"Best place to go in NYC with kids!"
As a child I absolutely LOVED the NHM and now my kids really enjoy it too! They have pretty much some of everything. The dinosaurs were my sons' favorite part (they are 2 and 5), but they loved all the mammals, butterflies, just everything. The food area is much better than most places, everything there is super kid friendly, even the bathrooms are very clean. Just a wonderful experience for the whole family, and one that can be repeated again and again without ever getting bored!

Pocono Indian Museum
Route 209 North,
Bushkill,
Pennsylvania
"Neat little place to drop in..."
The Pocono Indian Museum is a neat little place to drop by if you are in the area and are interested in this sort of thing. It is a small attraction, so don't plan on spending too much time there. But the displays are really good, and souvenir shop has some neat items in it. The price is a bit high for the legnth of time you are there though, and kids generally don't get much out of it until they are a bit older- at least 8 or so.
