"A good way to get out of the cold!"
We are in NYC during an incredibly cold weekend (we're from Texas, so total wimps) and were desperate to find indoor things to do with our 2yo. We spent about an hour there one morning and our son really enjoyed it. We rode the Ferris wheel and checked out the different floors. Our son liked the giant dinosaur and then spent quite a lot of time playing on the large Thomas train table.

There is definitely more to do with older kids, but even little ones can enjoy it for a while. With the advantage that they aren't yet old enough to ask for stuff, LOL.

"One of the best children's museums I've visited"
We spent a morning at this museum with our 17 month old son, and it was amazing fun. I've never been to a children's museum that was as toddler-friendly as this one. Almost all of the exhibits were geared towards preschoolers and accessible to toddlers. There is a separate toddler/baby area, but we didn't have to confine ourselves to it like we so in other children's museums. My son had a blast running around from exhibit to exhibit. Highlights included a great water play area and an amazing dig pit full of recycled rubber "gravel" and dozens of bulldozers and diggers.

The museum also has a wonderful snack bar and area to eat lunch in. It is adjacent to the zoo and the forestry museum, and is on the light rail line. We wished we'd discovered it sooner!

"Great place to spend a rainy morning"
We were recently in Manhattan on vacation, and had planned to spend the morning in Central Park with our 14mo son, but the rain meant we were looking for an alternative. The CMoM was a fantastic place, and seems like it would be fun for children of all ages. There was an entire floor for babies and toddlers, which is where we spent our time. There is a water play area, a play store with groceries, and story-telling area, and lots of interactive baby-friendly exhibits. The bathrooms have big changing tables with lots of supplies handy. There wasn't really a convenient place to nurse a baby (no benches to sit on, really), but that is my only complaint.
