Las Vegas Wranglers Hockey
Orleans Arena,
Las Vegas,
Nevada
"Bring the whole family."
If you love hockey, if you just love sports, or if you are just looking for a great night out with the family consider checking out the Las Vegas Wranglers. Part of the ECHL, the Wranglers have had a great run so far at the Orleans Arena. I'd recommend leaving really little ones at home because of the noise, and if you have younger kids consider purchasing seats in the family section. (This area is specifically set aside, there is no alcohol or profanity permitted in that area.)

"Fantastic Museum"
This museum is great for all ages. Kids will adore the interactive exhibits on the Second floor, while adults will enjoy perusing the endless amounts of music memorabilia and facts. A little pricey, but Worth the trip if you are in the Seattle Area.

Nevada State Railroad Museum
600 Yucca Street,
Boulder City,
Nevada 89005
"Perfect outing for train loving kids"
The railroad museum has a great selection of old engines, train cars, etc all beautifully restored on display. You can also purchase tickets to ride the train on a 7 mile trip to railroad pass and back. Kids adore this museum. At Christmas time they also have a "Santa Train" (Think Polar Express) The train cars are decorated and Santa makes the rounds on board to say hello and pose for pictures.

Gilcrease Orchard
North Las Vegas,
Nevada
"An Orchard in the Desert!"
Pack up the kids, bring some bags and explore the only "pick your own" orchard in the area. They have fruit trees, vegetables, and a large pumpkin patch in the fall. Don't forget to pick up a gallon of their fabulous apple cider on the way out! Kids of all ages love this activity.

Ethel's Chocolate Factory Tour & Botanical Cactus Garden | kids travel, kids activities
Ethel's Chocolate Factory Tour & Botanical Cactus Garden
2 Cactus Garden Dr,
Henderson,
Nevada 89014
"Great chocolate!"
I love Ethel M's! Been going here since i was a child, and now I bring my son. The factory tour is short, but interesting... (and usually followed by a free sample.. :-) ) The chocolate is fantastic. (I prefer the older versions, and avoid the new "ethel" boutique chocolates.) The Cactus Garden is the highlight of the place though. Great to explore, and at Christmas time it is beautifully lit. Admission is Free, and I highly recommend a trip.
