"California State Railroad Museum"
A fantastic museum dedicated to the rich history of the railroad in the West. Best suited for older children (5 and up) but with some activities for the little ones... there is a Thomas the Train Engine feature upstairs. Don't miss a ride on the Steam Train! A wonderful piece of California History and one of the best train museums in the country. This museum is of special interest even to audult train enthusists!!

"Swanston Spray Park"
This is a great water feature with a public park that offers multiple water toys...a spray cannon, dumping buckets, bubbling fountains, and so much more. The equipment all appears new and well maintained. Great for kids aged 2-7 years, but if your child doesn't like to get wet, this is not for him/her. My 18 month-old loves it!! There is also a regualr playground, basketball court, sand volleyball court and a tennis court...all for FREE!! I recommend this great park. Remember the hours are limited to the weekends after Labor day (and it's open only until October)

The multiple water features and exciting Splash Pad area make for hours upon hours of fun in the sun. The Spray Ground is FREE to the public and is open 7 days a week from 11-7pm. The season runs from Memorial Day to Labor day, then weekends only until October 12th.

Since we will be experiencing voluntary water reductions this summer, you might wonder if we will be closing the spray ground. At the present time we have no plans to do so. We believe that by keeping the feature open for public use we will actually be doing a lot to conserve water. Our system treats and recirculates the water it uses, so actual water use is minimal. The only loss is from evaporation and what goes home in wet swimsuits! By providing this service we are also reducing the need for people to stay home and fill wading pools and operate water sprinklers in their yard to cool down.

If you have any questions about the Spray Ground, please don't hesitate to call (916)333-6464 .
