Old Spaghetti Factory

"Love the Old Spaghetti Factory"
I love the old spaghetti factory. It has great vintage charm, delicious bread and salad (complementary) and good sized portions and it is pretty CHEAP! My kids are still fairly young and it is great for my husband and I to share some of our food and the kids to get to eat all the yummy bread! Prices are extremely reasonable!. The only negative would be that due to its popularity there is often a wait. Bring toys to entertain the kids!

Aquarium of the Bay San Francisco
The Embarcadero & Beach Street,
San Francisco,
California 94133
"Good aquarium for younger kids"
Our son loves this aquarium especially going through the glass tunnel where you can see tons of sharks while standing on a moving conveyer belt. There are many other good parts of the exhibit but the tunnel is the main attraction. This is not a big aquarium so older kids may find it not as interesting, but it is perfect for toddlers.

Embassy Suites San Francisco Airport - Burlingame
150 Anza Blvd,
Burlingame, California
"Big clean rooms and an awesome free breakfast!"
This is a perfect hotel for families. The bedroom and bathroom areas are in the back of the suite with the living room are in the front. This is perfect for mom and dad to hang out after the kiddos have gone to bed. All the rooms open into (or look down on) a huge atrium area. On the bottom floor, in the middle of the atrium, is the breakfast area where they serve breakfast. They have a made to order omelet bar, cereal bar, pastries, fruit, juice, coffee, and tea and more. An especially good value when you book on the cheaper travel sites.

Truckee River Dam and Fanny Bridge
The "Y",
Tahoe City,
California
"A fun stop on your way through Tahoe"
Fanny Bridge is a great spot to take your kiddos. It is at a fairly busy intersection but has a lot of things to do and see for families. The bridge itself is right next to the Dam and usually has tons of fish for the kids to check out. Just across a side street is Porter's Outlet where there is a fish food vending machine (for $0.25). And just a block away (next to the condos) is a great little beach called Commons Beach that has a fantastic playground and (for the most part) clean restrooms and an awesome view of the lake.

Scheels Sporting Goods

"The kids like it and dad will too!"
I know this might not be the first place you would think to take your kids but it is a fun destination that has something for everyone. The centerpiece of the store is a three-story tall ferris wheel that you can ride for a dollar. At the top of the ferris wheel you get a great view of the Reno skyline. Other highlights for the kids are the fresh and salt water fish tanks. Be sure to check the feeding schedule when you arrive as the fish really enjoy their food. They also have a huge indoor playground with a tunnel system in the kids clothing area.
