About Me & My Family

I’m a single mom with one 3 yr old boy. My two passions are traveling and raising my son. I love being a mom and there’s no place I’d rather be then with my son. I work full time and love to exercise.
Our Family's Travel Personality
adventurous, curious, quiet, cautious, relaxed, simple, independent, energetic, spontaneous, sophisticated, easy_going, social_butterfly
We Just Got Back From
Maui
Our Favorite Vacation Spot
Manhattan Beach, CA
A Place We'd Love To Visit
Petite St. Vincent
Favorite Vacation Memory
Celebrating my son's 2nd birthday in Maui. It was 9 days of Paradise.
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
I’ll never forget flying home from Honolulu in first class with my 1.6 month old son on Delta. The plane did not have any milk for the flight and even though I boarded early not one person thought to inform me that the plane was not stocked with milk. Cash was still drinking from a bottle at this time and freaked out over having to go 5 hours without milk in his bottle. This old cranky lady was loudly complaining behind me the whole flight home about how she was tired of hearing my son cry (as if I wasn’t). I wanted to scream (but did not) at every employee of the airline for not informing me the plane had no milk until we were up in the air.

Hotels with the Best Pools Near Disneyland

If you visit Disneyland, you might want to spend some time at the pool to cool off when you are not at the parks. Choosing a hotel with water slides or a miniature water park can enhance your family vacation. There are no hotels with large water parks in Anaheim, California, but the first three hotels on this list have themed pools or small water park facilities. The remainder of hotels on the list are good family friendly hotels with nice but standard pools. I’ve placed the hotels with the cooler pools, i.e., pools that also have kiddie wading pools, hotels with more than 1 pool, or pools with superb landscaping higher on the list.

Where to go Sledding/Tubing in New Mexico

I love sledding down snow covered hills with my child on my lap squealing with joy! Here is Trekaroo’s guide for places to tube and sled with your family in New Mexico.

Triple M Snow Play Area:
Driving about 1 hour to the south of Ski Apache Resort finds you in Cloudcroft at lofty elevations over 8,000 feet – sometimes there is more snow here than in Ruidoso.  Triple M offers tubing and snowmobile rentals by the hour, ½ day or whole day.  Try 1-800-SNO-PLAY for more information.

Dale Ball Trails:
Several great sledding spots are just a couple of miles up ski basin road, also known as Hyde Park Road or N.M. 475, on the other side of the Dale Ball Trails parking lot.

Tres Ritos: This great spot for sledding is just off of N.M. 518, about three miles east of Sipapú ski area and near Tres Ritos. The site features some covered picnic areas. A 200-yard steep hill with a 50- to 60-yard-wide trail provides for excellent sledding, all for free. There are smaller bunny hills for little ones.

Cumbres Pass: A little farther drive from Santa Fe will take you to some great tubing and sledding hills in the Cumbres Pass just past Chama. Look for some wide parking areas and hills just off N.M. 17.

Sled With Care:

Supervise children at all times.
No one should sled head-first down a slope.
Avoid sledding on slopes that end in a street, drop-off, parking lot, river or pond.
Provide a safety helmet for young children.

North Lake Tahoe Historical Society Museums and Exhibits

Lake Tahoe is internationally known as one of our Nation’s most spectacular areas. Its exciting, rich history both natural (glaciers, volcanoes) and cultural (Washoe people, wagon trains, lumber barons, miners and millionaires) fascinate both residents and visitors. The North Lake Tahoe Historical Society was founded in 1969 by a group of concerned citizens who were passionate about preserving Tahoe’s history, and telling its stories through its three museums located in Tahoe City.

Special Exhibits:

Woven Legacy: A Collection of Dat-so-la-lee Works, 1900-1921:
It is the early 20th century, and a Washoe weaver named Dat-so-la-lee sits on the grassy shoreline of Lake Tahoe, unknowingly weaving her name into history. Dat So La Lee is one of the most famous Washoe weavers of all time. These wondrous minatures -- mindboggling to behold -- are displayed in a re-creation of Hurley's Cottage, home of Amy Cohn's Tahoe City curio shop, courtesy of collection owner Gene Quintana. Don't miss this rare opportunity to view such an unique piece of Tahoe history.

Postcards from Tahoe:
Explore the unique history of Tahoe through the images of early 20th century postcards and messages.
