We really enjoyed this store. There were at least four people who were displaying different types of toys. The displays are phenomenal and the sheer amount and variety of toys was amazing. I would suggest narrowing in on a particular type of toy before you go in the store so that you don't feel inundated. Easy to access location as well.

Springfield Nature Center

"Fun place to go...especially on a rainy day"
We had a rainy day and took our then18-month old to the Springfield Nature Center. My son loved the animals and bird watching. They even had wild turkeys on site that were viewable from behind glass. Lots of bird calls and options for learning more about nature. Toddlers, preschoolers and kindergartners as well as older children will love this place...especially on a rainy day!

"Great for adults and older children"
The boat ride was AMAZING! The tour was fascinating. That being said...this is probably not a tour for younger children. The prison is not that accessible to a stroller, so take along your baby carrier. There is also an amazing tour with headphones...but it's probably better for older kids...say junior high or so. We loved the island and the views. We loved the tour!

Cable Car Ride

"You have to do this...no matter the age of your child"
No matter how old your child is, take them on a cable car. They mandate smaller children stay in the covered area of the cable car. My son was about 15 moths old when we took him on the car and he LOVED it! Maybe it was the people (loves people), or the bells, but it was an amazing experience!

Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum

"They have poured $$$ into this museum and it totally shows!"
This museum is simply amazing! They have obviously put a ton of money into it, but it's SO interesting. I will definitely take my son once he gets to elementary/ middle school age. Their exhibits combine a lot of theatrical lighting and detail. But it's so tastefully done. Truly one of the best ways to spend an afternoon (or day) in Springfield.
