Fort George Island Cultural State Park
State Road A1A South,
Jacksonville,
Florida 32226
We went here because we're heading towards amelia island. I checked the map and it looks interesting with Fort George inlet, so we decided to go there. Passed the Kinsley Plantation, then we saw the entrance on the right. ooh!! Fort George State park. Entrance is 3.00 per car, and the park closed at 6PM that day. This is still considered winter time going towards spring, we went there in late February. I forget but I'm sure summer hour is different. There are places to camp along the beach. The whole park is beach!! it is so awesome and when I imagine what summer will be, I bet it will not be packed like any other beach. There are bugalows with BBQ spots. Really nice for picnic by the beach, and even when we go there in late winter, foggy and little windy, it is still beautiful. My 10 months old was having fun with the birds. White sandy dunes all around us. If you want to go further down, make sure your car is offroad car or at least a four wheel drive. I can't really imagine being stuck here. It will spoil a fun day at the nice beach. See you at summer Fort George!!!

Otay Ranch Town Center
2015 Birch Road,
Chula Vista,

i can only find one of this in san diego. The place reminded me of the GROVE in LA. This outdoor mall is very family friendly. I like the farmers market they have there every Tuesday at 4-8 PM. The best restaurant in the mall is the King's Fish House. Their chowder and ratattouie are to die for. They provide crayons and pictures to color for the kids. Last time we went there, they have child's meal with free sippy cup, though you might have to ask. There are free concert near the water fountain some times. The place is a gem in the middle of nowhere. There are groceries nearby too, like walmart. You can find Build A Bear Workshop inside the mall. The mall's hours are all weekdays and saturday 10 am - 9 pm. On Sundays 11 am -7 pm. Check http://www.otayranchtowncenter.com/events for yearly events.

Knotts Soak City - San Diego
2052 Entertainment Center,
Chula Vista,
California
It is nice having the waterpark near our neighborhood. We don't have to go far to LA or San Dimas. The only bad thing about it is all of San Diego's residents seem to come here in one day, like ants whom found sugar.Other than that, I'm not complaining though. The line is long but the ride is worth it and gnarly!!! They got everything for everyone. The water is well as clean as a crowded gathering, but it is still acceptable. I recommend to go around to different supermarket or shopping center to get good deal, cause something will show up in summer. Then come here early to get to the rides before everyone and leave last. Don't forget to get a couple lockers and bring only the essentials from your car. We fit 3 people's stuff in one locker. We share a sunblock, bring couple towels, one big container of water, and a credit card. Just carry as little as possible. I checked here http://www.family-vacation-getaways-at-los-angeles-theme-parks.com/Soak-City-Hours-and-Attractions.html for the opening hour, cause it varies between months.

Children's Pool, La Jolla
859 Coast Blvd,
La Jolla,
California 92037
It is a beautiful coastline. In day time we could enjoy the scenery and of course the seal. Watch out for the smell, and remember do not allow your kids go near them. wild seal have bacteria all over them. sunset is beautiful, but at night especially full moon is when we like it the most. This is the time when more seals are on the beach. the moon shine like a big flashlight and we saw a very calm ocean. the other best time to visit is grunion runs at march all through august. the method is captured by hand only and no holes to trap them. Only for above 16 years old and must have a California fishing license. Don't forget also when squid spawning around the same time, rent a boat and you don't have to go far from the coast. Prepare a couple prawns or bigger shrimps as baits, nets, and voila!! you looks like you've been fishing squid for ages.

Mission Bay Park
2688 East Mission Bay Drive,
San Diego,
California
we can basically do anything that involved water here. there are several stores that rent kayak, boat, jet ski,wet suits, fins etc. boating is totally awesome, kayaking too of course, water skiing, jet skiing, a place to picnic, BBQ, biking, rollerblading, body boarding, skimboardng, snorkeling, and just about anything fun under the son. the western part of the beach is the Belmont park. There are so many restaurant to choose from. Surfside sushi near grand ave is highly recommended. Happy hour sushi are half price for selected very yummy rolls on Monday and Friday. What is better than that? The only setbacks is crowded parking. just be patient and you'll get a spot
