Georgia Aquarium
225 Baker Street NW,
Atlanta,
Georgia
We took our little ones to explore the GA aquarium last summer and had a great time seeing all the underwater creatures. The size of the tanks alone were mind-boggling. My favorite was the beluga whale, but we have the cutest videos of the penguins befriending my 3 year old and following him around the corner of their tank. It is in the heart of Atlanta and you don't want to miss it!!

science city

"needed more time to explore"
Science City is definitely an understated attraction in downtown KC. Located inside Union Station, it could be easy to miss, and I was told it was really a science museum for upper elementary students, but I strongly disagree. It was great for 6 and 3 year old boys with a city-themed atmosphere. Among there favorite things was a musical park, a petting area, digging for dino bones, and a physics room. We didn't get to see everything, but we will be back.

Crown Center Shopping Area
2405 Grand Blvd,
Kansas City,
Missouri
"only really exciting over Chrismas Time"
My husband is in school within walking distance to the crown center, so we occasionally visit him there for lunch. There are some great places to eat there. The boys really enjoy a diner-type resturant called Fritz's where trains bring you your food to your booth and they pass out conductor hats for the kids to wear and take home as a keepsake. The Crown center does a beautiful job decorating for Christmas, but other than food and shopping there is not much for the kids.

"great outing for the fam"
We had such a blast exploring the old Union Station in downtown Kansas City with my in-laws this summer. There is a KC Rail Experience complete with a model train display that is out of this world. There are two resturants and a great science museum (that is extra) inside as well. The architecture is breath-taking and they have various traveling exhibits there as well. When we were there, there was one about dinosaurs that was great fun.

Carolyn's Country Cousins Pumpkin Patch
17607 NE 52nd St.,
Liberty,
Missouri 64068
"best ever pumpkin patch with activities galore"
My boys and I had so much fun at Carolyn's pumpkin patch. We had never been to an actual patch before, and they definitely exceeded our expectations. There was a whole area of barn animals, some within little hands reach to pet. There was also a path with trikes to ride and race on. There were two monstrous tube slides and a wooden pirate ship for the kids to explore. They even have three barrel horses with lassos to practice lassoing your very own "longhorn". When you are ready to go out to the patch, they take you in wagons drawn by a tractor. One word of caution is that the tractor stirs up a significant amount of dirt and dust. Make sure to cover little one's mouths and keep a tight lid on yours as well.
