Woodland Mall Play Area

"I really enjoyed watching my kids here"
I have to say that I really enjoy watching the kids play in these mall playlands that are popping up everywhere! This one is giant food! The kids think its so funny and love to talk about waffles the size of their bed!
One time we were there pretty close to closing time, and were asked to leave because they close it down early each night to clean and sanitize the entire thing. I was very impressed as that is my biggest concern about taking the kids to these places, GERMS. I know they are still germy, but its good to know:)
Perfect for a rainy or snowy afternoon.

Mackinac Bridge walk
Fort Michilimackinac Rd,
Mackinaw City,
Michigan 49781
"Great for adults and older kids"
On Labor Day weekend they open the bridge to the UP to walk across. If you have ever driven across, you know its so beautiful!! its a long walk and can be windy, so keep it to the older kids.
Bring your camera because the photo ops are awesome!
Not for anyone afraid of bridges or heights. It can be a little scary, even knowing you are safe!

Holland State Park
2215 Ottawa Beach Road,
Holland,
Michigan
"Nice but there are better beaches in west Michigan"
Its nice, and clean. Not really very memorable. Good beaches close to Tunnel Park, which is very cool and unusual and I even remember going to as a kid. But I think you can find better beaches a bit north in grand haven, muskegon and ludington.
However, as a life long lover of lake Michigan, I say any chance you get to be near that lake(on Michigan's side) do it! its like no place on earth. An amazing, beautiful fresh-water ocean.

Veldheers
12755 Quincy St.,
Holland,
Michigan
You have to have your camera! Durring peak tulip season April/May depending on the year, you will see more tulips here than you can imagine!
We still have photos of me and my sister as little girls visiting Veldheers, and they are beautiful! little kids lost in a sea of beautiful tulips. Now my kids have had the same experience.
Lots of fun, wooden shoes and the entire Dutch tradition alive and well in Holland, MI.

Meijer - Store #50
5531 28th St SE,
Grand Rapids,
Michigan 49512
"sorry for the regions in the US without Meijer stores!"
meijer is top notch around here. I have friends who have moved away and say that its meijer that they miss!
Its a beautiful, clean store with everything! They have some of the best customer service around and the prices are darn good too. The promise of a 1 cent pony ride tend to keep the Littles in check while we shop!
Another thing we love about the store is the huge variety of items. We love trying new things!
They offer big carts for when you have to have the whole gang along for a shopping trip, and the stores often offer tours to local school children.
Just the best. you can bet Walmart cannot compare.
