La Quinta Inn & Suites Gallup
3880 E Highway 66,
Gallup, New Mexico
This hotel is very new and yet we found there to be quite a few things wrong in our room, and the bathroom seemed to be falling apart already, caulk peeling, loose and wobbly toilet, etc. Also, it is built right along the train tracks and we were awoken by trains throughout the night. It is pet-friendly and there is a good free breakfast, though they had run out of much of the hot food by 8am and breakfast is supposed to be served until 9am. We would probably choose to stay in the other part of town the next time. There is a nice Best Western that is also pet friendly and we will stay there when we travel through again.

La Quinta Inn Albuquerque Northwest
7439 Pan American Ne,
Albuquerque, New Mexico
Our room had two double beds and we slept one extra kiddo on the floor and had plenty of room. This hotel is also pet friendly and does not charge you extra for having a pet. We enjoyed our breakfast of belgian waffles, juice, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, muffins, and fruit. The beds were comfortable enough and we had a nice stay. We would stay again.

La Quinta Inn and Suites Anaheim
1752 S Clementine St,
Anaheim, California
"Close to Disneyland, pet friendly, big"
Unfortunately our stay at this particular La Quinta Inn and Suites was not as good as it could have been, and it all was due to the location of our room. After a full day at Disneyland, we checked in to our reserved room well after midnight, utterly exhausted and looking forward to sleeping in. Our room had two queen beds, two sinks, a shower and tub, and a separate room with a couch bed, desk, TV, microwave, and fridge. We did have to go back to the desk to get extra pillows and towels because we have five people in our family. We also liked that the room had a thermostat instead of just a wall heater and a/c. The view out the window was pretty yucky, we were tight above the large, open trash containers. And our room happened to be the room next door to the breakfast area which opened at 6am. So much for sleeping in. Families getting ready to go spend the day at Disneyland came screaming into the hallway outside our room at 6am and we could literally distinguish full conversations. The room had the worst soundproofing of any hotel we have ever stayed in. Breakfast was not as nice as the other La Quinta Inns we have stayed in, just toaster waffles instead of make-your-own belgian waffles, no yogurts, basically lots and lots of bread. If we were to stay here again, we would definitely ask for an upper level room away from the breakfast area. Overall, decent, but we were definitely unlucky! Oh, and when we complained about the noise, we were barely offered even an apology, no coupon, discount, or anything, just a "Well, that is the way things are sometimes!"

Happy Apple Farm

"Pick your own fruits and veggies"
When in season there are 14 varieties of Apples, thorn-less blackberries, pumpkins, fresh pressed Apple Cider and Honey. Last year, we picked our pumpkins pretty late, and due to poor production all over Colorado, they were bringing in extra pumpkins instead of just the ones you pick yourself. My girls loved the hayride our to the pumpkin patch. Make sure you wear pants and good shoes as there can be lots of prickers and thorns in the patch! The prices are not too bad for pumpkins, and we've heard apple and berry prices are very reasonable as well. We'll be back in July for the gooseberries! Oh, and the little store is cute, the staff is friendly, and at Halloween there were free activity pages for the kids. Even though there were lots of kids with our homeschool group and another group, it wasn't too crowded, and there were nice covered tables to have a little picnic lunch.

Stratosphere Tower - Casino & Resort Hotel
2000 Las Vegas Blvd S,
Las Vegas, Nevada
We had a really really good deal to stay here for two nights. It was fine, but it was really nothing special. It is far away from the main part of the strip, and although we did walk to a restaurant, it just didn't feel like it was the safest place to be walking at night. It was fine, but there are much nicer places to stay in Vegas, so only stay here if you have a really great deal.
