Sierra at Tahoe | kids travel, kids activities
Sierra at Tahoe
1111 Sierra at Tahoe Road,
Twin Bridges,
California 95735
"Affordable prices make Sierra a family favorite"
Sierra at Tahoe has low prices for lift tickets, lessons, and other expenses that make this ski resort a family favorites. Expert skiers and boarders will likely be bored; new skiers and children and adults looking to take it easy will love these shorter, less intimidating ski slopes.

Wild Mountain Ski and Snowboard camp for ages 4 to 12 is top notch. Day care programs available and kids 4 and under ski free. Good snow between 6,600- and 8,800-foot elevation; snow play on-site and a new tubing hill. At the Telemark and Backcountry Center, ask about the guided snowshoe tours, easy enough for kids ages 7 and up. You will find boarding terrain off every lift, from a 17-foot halfpipe to fifty tabletops and dozens of rails. At mid-mountain, you can rent snow bikes and scooters.

In the heart of Kings Canyon, this is a great place to enjoy the beauty of the canyon. A wonderful spot to take in waterfalls and granite cliffs. Cedar Grove also is an ideal base for hiking and biking.

San Jose,
California 95110
"Fun with the Family"
West of Highway 87, with attractions around Spring Street and Taylor, the Alameda and Delmas, and Woz Way—see map on Website.
A 3-mile-long park along the Guadalupe River. More than 3,700 varieties of roses; playground of net structures with adjacent, shaded picnic area; carousel ($); toddlers’ play lot near a refreshment kiosk, Monopoly in the Park and restrooms.
The visitor center is on the north side of Santa Clara Street at the river, in the pocket park of Arena Green across from the San Jose Arena. A good place to start the river walk is at the Children’s Discovery Museum on Woz Way.

"Fun with the Family"
The name “Inyo” comes from a Native American word meaning “dwelling place of the great spirit.” The Inyo National Forest was named after Inyo County, in which much of the forest resides. Here you’ll find more than two million acres of clean air, crystal blue skies, mountain lakes and streams, challenging trails, high mountain peaks, and beautiful views. The Inyo National Forest is home to many natural wonders, including Mt. Whitney, Mono Lake, Mammoth Lakes Basin, and the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, as well as seven congressionally designated wildernesses, comprising more than 650,000 acres of land. Recreational opportunities include camping, picnicking, hiking, backpacking, equestrian use, and off-highway vehicle use. One hundred-plus miles of trails are groomed for multiple-purpose winter use snowmobiling, skiing, and hiking), and approximately 45 miles of trails are groomed for cross-country skiing.
