About Me & My Family

Chelle Koster Walton combined her career as travel writer with her calling as a parent upon the birth of her son, Aaron, who immediately became her traveling companion. From her home on Sanibel Island, Florida, the author has written or contributed to numerous guidebooks—two of which won Lowell Thomas Awards—and magazine articles for FamilyFun, Caribbean Travel & Life, National Geographic Traveler, Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel, Endless Vacation, the New York Post, and other print and electronic media. Walton is cofounder of www.guidebookwriters.com and a member of the Society of American Travel Writers. Sara Kennedy is a longtime journalist and traveler. She began travel writing at Flying magazine in New York City and departed occasionally from news editing and reporting to write travel stories for various newspapers, including the Tampa Times and the Philadelphia Inquirer. For more than a decade, as her children grew up, she operated a Tampa freelance business, writing for the New York Times, FamilyFun magazine, Cooking Light, Hemispheres, Michelin's Green Guide to Florida, and Tampabay.Citysearch.com. She has edited a cookbook entitled Clarita's Cooking Lighter and contributed to the New York Times What's Doing Around the World.
