Arlington National Cemetery

I visited the Arlington National Cemetary with three teen boys who were so tired they could hardly indulge me in going there. We took an easy subway ride directly to the cemetary. Upon arriving the boys perked up a bit as they saw the grand scale of the cemetary. As we watched the changing of the guards, I believe they understood why I insisted on visiting the cemetary. It was almost 100 degrees and THEY insisted we watch the changing of the guards another three times. You will not regret seeing this!

"A must see for those old enough to understand"
I visited this museum with three teen boys. We purchased our tickets early in the day and were told to return at a specific time that afternoon. I feel this museum/memorial is appropriate for teens. However, there were some families with young children at the museum. My boys continue to discuss the Holocaust Memorial five years later.

Washington Monument
Constitution Ave NW,

I debated about writing this review. I can only comment on the outside of the monument which is definitely worth a look. If you plan to go inside, you must get your tickets very early and then plan to stand in long lines to view. Even so, we couldn't go to DC and not visit the Washington Monument!

Vietnam Veterans Memorial (The Wall)

It seems odd to give this five stars. However, I traveled here with three teens, all of whom are from military families. We were so moved by the reverence displayed by those around us. A great opprotunity to engauge teens in conversation about our nations history and loss of life. We will never forget the experience.

"A bit of a disappointment"
I visited the Smithsonian Natural History Museum with three teens all of whom were very excited to explore the museum. Many of the exhibits were not there as the museum lends exhibits to other museums/schools. The teens thought it was just okay. Maybe if more exhibits had been on display we would have had a better experience.
