Littleton Historical Museum
6028 South Gallup Street,
Littleton,
Colorado 80120
The two sides of the museum, 1860 or 1905, are both wonderfully detailed. When I stepped into the 1905 house it felt like my great grandma could be in the next room. A museum staff member was in character and asked me to get a bucket of water to help her cook! The house was alive with history. A great visit.

Tiny Town Railroad
6249 S. Turkey Creek Rd,
Morrison,
Colorado 80465
While the idea of riding a small train and seeing small buildings sounds great for little kids, we find that most of the adults who work the grounds are grumpy and resent us being there. The snack bar lady is usually unhelpful, and we've grown tired of the many signs telling us all the things we shouldn't/can't do. Still, its a train, and kids will enjoy it, so, 2 stars-do it once and call it done.

Devil's Head Trail & Fire Lookout Tower
19316 Goddard Ranch Ct,
Morrison,
Colorado 80465
This is a short steep hike that has a tremendous payoff at the top. The trail starts in lush forest with lots of flowers, depending on the time of year, but we love the shady start. At the top you'll want to take a breather before climbing the stairs-while very safe it can still frighten some kids. The fire look out at the top is a real treat-you must see this place before it passes-it is like stepping back in time. The view is awesome!

Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum
7711 East Academy Boulevard,
Denver,
Colorado 80230
Some museums are overwhelming, but this one is a nice size for small feet to putter around and get intimate with historic air craft. A small book store-we've had both friendly and grumpy volunteers, so touching the planes depends on the day and who is helping out at the counter

Wall Drug
510 Main Street,
Wall,
South Dakota 57790
I've seen many of the Wall Drug bumper stickers but never knew how fun this place was until we stopped in 2005. First, count the license plates in the lot-we found over 30 states without much effort. The chocalate shakes were thick and yummy, served by a young lady from Russia-the gifts and attractions were a blast for our kids.
