"Family Weekends are the best"
Our family has grown to love the quarterly family weekends at Snow Mtn Ranch. The price is better, and the activities are marvelous for our family of 4-roller skating, hiking, and the crafts! Our kids love the crafts. We also appreciate the atmosphere with international staff and no tvs in the rooms. We hope the staff monitor the lounges better since new tvs were added there and some families camp out there now, but overall this is one of our favorite family traditions.

If you want fine dining this isn't your place. Still, the sense of wonder is palpable. Feels like Pirates of the Carribean meets yummy sopapillas. The cliff divers are usually high school kids, but our kids didn't care-the tunnels, the multiple levels, the lighting are all great for kids.

My kids loved the model train in the basement, but most of all they loved being able to climb around the trains and touch them. The price at the time was a little high for us, but looking back it seems worth it. A must see for ages 5-8. Take sunscreen as much of this is outside.

This museum is moving locations, so it will be interesting to see what they do with their new space-one museum worker told me that the "open storage" 2 story high glass-cased area which featured so prominently on the lower level of the old location will actually be able to have more items displayed-he said many many items remained in back and no one ever saw them. As an educator I hope the new layout is more cohesive-due to space the flow the museum was arbitrary and disjointed. Let's hope the wonderful ancient pueblo and plains peoples exhibits are maintained and expanded, and that the mining equipment stays!

"The best view in Denver"
While many people have visited this museum, thankfully few people venture through the dioramas and step back into the atrium-a 3 story high wall of glass-try it on a winter day and see Denver like few people ever do. In summer, take the elevator to the sky deck. It is indeed the best view of the skyline.
