Flapjacks and a Flick
2404 Airport Freeway,
Bedford,
Texas 76022
The Movie Tavern in Bedford offers flapjacks and a flick on Saturday mornings at 9 am! For $8.50/child and $10/adult, you can enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes and watch a family friendly movie (price includes movie, pancakes and selected beverages). My husband and son went last weekend to watch Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and they both loved it. It's a great way to avoid the heat of the summer, too!

Fort Worth Cats baseball
301 NE 6th Street,
Fort Worth,
Texas
Fort Worth's minor league baseball team is a blast to watch! Dodger, the mascot, roams around the ballpark and kids love to hug him and slap high-fives. There is a bounce house and huge sandbox/playground by third base that works wonders for any antsy kids who don't want to sit still for an entire baseball game. Check their website for any special promotions they might have with reduced price tickets. General admission is $6 and children under age 3 that don't require a seat are FREE.

Tubing at Red River ski area
center of town,
Red River,
New Mexico
"Tubing at Red River ski area"
After the ski slopes closed in late afternoon at Red River, we rented a tube through Guest Services at the ski area ($10 per tube) and took turns heading down the bunny slope with one of our kids in our lap - sometimes both of them! The pricing is great because our family of four did just fine with one tube but you have the option of renting more (good idea if you have older kids). My daughter had just turned a year old when we were there, and she loved it. It was great to have a really fun outdoor activity where the youngest among us could have just as much fun!

Fort Worth Zoo
1989 Colonial Parkway,
Fort Worth,
Texas 76110
"Fort Worth Zoo - one of the nation's best!"
The Fort Worth Zoo is right in our backyard and is a great place to take kiddos to see God's creatures in a more natural habitat. If you can make it in the middle of the week, Wednesdays are half price admission! There is a Texas Wild section of the zoo that focuses on Texas-specific wildlife and what you can find in the different areas of the state. Very educational but a lot of fun, too!
