Opryland Hotel
2800 Opryland Drive,
Nashville,
Tennessee
"A destination in itself!"
This hotel is more expensive than most that we stay at, but it's worth it! The hotel itself is a trip worth taking, even if you have nothing else to do in Nahsville! There are boatrides offered in the hotel, gardens, and shopping. There is a fountain show every night that my four year old loved. If you have the opprotunity to visit around Christmas, do it! The hotel is decorated beautifully with ice sculptures, lights and other displays, and there are horse-drawn carriage rides. The only hotel I know that can keep a family busy!

Boston Duck Tours
4 Copley Place, Suite 4155,
Boston,
Massachusetts 02116
I've been on Duck tours in a couple of cities, and they are always fun with the kids. The one in Boston was exceptionally fun for the whole family. Boston has so much history, and the Duck tourguides present it in a way that makes it interesting for kids.
A "duck" is a WWII vehicle that can run on Land or water, and the tour takes you to both. You get to see TONS of the city in a quick and informative tour. It's pricey, but worth it, especially if you are in Boston for a limited time.

Smithsonian Natural History Museum
10th Street, NW,
Washington,
District of Columbia
I love all of the Smithsonian museums, but the Museum of Natural History is a favorite of my kids. My son is two, and loves looking at all of the animals. We usually keep him in his stroller, as it has been pretty crowded both times that we went. I love seeing the Hope Diamond- it's beautiful! The best thing about these museums is that they are always free, so you can go in for a short time whenever you are in the area.

Lagoon Amusement Park
Exit 327 from I-15 at US89 junction,
Farmington,
Utah 84025
This park is okay, as it is the only option we found close to Salt Lake. There are much better options in other parts of the country. The park was dirty and the rides didn't look or sound particularly safe. They were all rides that you can ride anywhere else, only better at other places. The admission was over priced, and so were the refreshments. Fill your time in Utah doing other things!

Holiday World & Splashin' Safari
452 E Christmas Blvd,
Santa Claus,
Indiana 47579
This was a great little theme park! It's a little smaller than a six flags, but it's also cheaper, and more family friendly. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, but worth a drive of an hour or two. There are plenty of rides for young and old alike, and the lines are short enough that if your kids are too young to ride one you want to ride, you can take turns with your spouse! There are also free fountain drinks and sunscreen- nice perks especially on a hot summer day!
