Navy Pier

"FUn but bring your Wallet!"
We went to Navy Pier last August with our then 14 month old. She had a GREAT time. IT was very crowded so that was nice cool but we worked it out. THe Children's Museum was EXCELLENT; so many exhibits for little ones. We didnt know how much there would be for her to do but we were pleasantly surprised. There was many food options which is nice for a picky toddler! We would definitely recommend this for a family fun day. It is just EXPENSIVE (as is everything in the City)

Apple Blossom Farm
9809 N. Route 91,
Peoria,
Illinois 61615
"Lots of activities for kiddos here"
We had a great time at Apple Blossom Farm. The improvement that I think they could make is to have more activities for smaller children. They have a nice big slide which was fun for all. They had a wonderful store with so many yummy treats. Their prices were very good. I would recommend going to this orchard but there are also other ones in central IL that I think are a little nicer.

Peoria Glen Oak Zoo
2218 N. Prospect Rd,
Peoria,
Illinois 61603
We were SO impressed when we made the 40 minute drive to Peoria to visit the zoo. It is a magnificent zoo. The new Africa exhibit is breathtaking--we felt like we were really in Africa (it helped that it was in July and HOT!!!). So many great exhibits and such a wide variety of animals. We will definitely be visiting this zoo many times in the future!

Torkelson Cheese Company
9453 West Louisa Rd.,
Lena,
Illinois 61048
I love this cheese company--they have real quality products. However, I would not describe it as a fun place for kids to go. It does not have the most pleasant odor to it and there is really not much for kids to do at all (at least not when I've been there). But that said, there cheese is really good and it would be worth to stop by and give it a try.

Morton Pumpkin Festival
Downtown,
Morton,
Illinois 61550
"Pretty awesome festival!!"
Morton Pumpkin Festival is always a favorite in my book. My only complaints is that it is SO busy and crowded that it is tricky to manuever your stroller and your screaming toddler through the crowd. Parade is wonderful. They usually have some carnival type rides which the kids usually like. There is lots of yummy food although some of it is grossly overpriced.
