We're pretty much equidistant between the NC Zoo at Asheboro and the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC. We've frequented both zoos and like this zoo for the natural habitats and great learning experiences it provides. Lots more walking for little legs, frequent breaks or strollers are helpful but soooo worth it!

Don't want to spend the entire day at the zoo, or want to enjoy the zoo before the summer heat gets unbearable? This is the perfect zoo for the family that wants to spend 2-3 hours and see just about every exhibit. Especially for little legged guests, my 3 yr old son can walk the entire zoo and see it all without needing a stroller!
