Tualitin Hills Parks & Recreational District (THPRD) is a real asset in Beaverton/Portland/Tigard area. It is a ncecessity if you have kids. You can find all sorts of classes: swimming, tennis, gymnastics, ballet, soccer, basketball, baseball and more. The prices are competitive and the instucting is good. The main center in Walker Road has indoor track for rainy days and they offer morning day care where you can leave your kids while you're present in the center. There's a play group on M, W and Friday around 10Am.

Family Fun Center located on the I5 few miles before Woodburn Factory Outlet. It has both indoor and outdoor areas. My kids love the bumper boats and race cars the most. Mini golf is fun too. We attended a birthday party in the indoor area and it was so much fun. Good place to leave Dad with kids and go shopping in the outlet.

My kids went once on the tram with Dad and they had so much fun. They said the views are lovely from up there. You pay one way only and the other is free. It is a fun affordable outing. Complete the day with a walk by the river and hot chocolate from Little River Cafe.

Sunset lanes is a fine bowling center. It's accomodating of the kids. It has side bumpers for beginners and ramps for little kids. Prices are average to high but when you sign up with them, you receive coupons. What's great about them is kids bowl for free during June, July & August. Just check with the staff in May to get one card per student.

The nature park is conviently located in Beaverton. It has a very beautiful and easy hiking trail. The park also offers many classes and camps to teach kids about nature. My son attended a one week half day camp and really enjoyed it. They would walk one part of the trail each day and learn about different kind of animals.
