Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
We went to Schlitterbahn in Texas one year, and the whole time is thunder stormed. THE WHOLE TIME. All of the major rides were closed, and we were mainly restricted to the hotel room. Oh well, at leas

Burton Coliseum
7001 Gulf Hwy,
Lake Charles,
Louisiana 70607
"GReat family fun - depending on the event"
The Burton Coliseum hosts many events, but my family and I usually only go to the rodeos. Having 6,500-seats, there is room for plenty of folks. The rodeos are simply amazing. Events range from bull riding to cattle roping to clown skits to the comical monkey riding a dog (really). Lasers and explosions are often use to entertain the crowd, and the commentators are very funny, but never vulgar. A great family adventure that will remain in the memory for a long time.

Galveston Duck Tours
912 33rd Street,
Galveston,
Texas 77550
"A fun little tour"
After a long day on the beach, it is nice to take a seat and enjoy a lovely view. That's what you get with Galveston's Duck Tours. The vehicles seat a multitude of people, so there is no worry of anyone being left out. They are also amphibious, meaning that they travel both on land and on the water. You should see children's faces as the vehicle heads toward the water... priceless! If you plan on vacationing on Galveston Isle, make plans for the tour. It is well worth it!

Millennium Park
900 Lakeshore Drive ,
Lake Charles,
Louisiana 70601
"Fun for the family."
This is a great park. Year round, children come to enjoy the park's many play structures, from a tall tower with slides to a multitude of swings. The structures are made of wood, which is inviting and interesting to the eye. My family and I go here often and the kids play all day long with no boredom. No kidding. For the adults, there are nice sitting areas and a nearby hill for picnickers. There is so much to do here, the kids will bed to come back.

Steamboat Bill's
1004 Lakeshore Dr. ,
Lake Charles,
Louisiana 70601
"Great food"
If what you desire is a plate of delicious seafood, then Steamboat Bill's is the place to go. They offer many dishes, some featuring catfish, others shrimp, and more. They also devote a section of their menu to kid meals, which is definitely a plus. The food is cooked to perfection, and the service is very good. Awesome place, this is.

Texas Roadhouse
3431 Nelson Road,
Lake Charles,
Louisiana 70605-1209
"Good eatin'"
This place is great. The food is in large portions (Texas sized), and is extremely tasty. They offer a wide variety of barbecued meals, burgers, and other tasty things. The atmosphere has quite a few stuffed creatures like a few armadillos and snakes. The staff is fiendly, and I didn't even have to ask for a drink refill. The music is lively and fun; this is just a great place to dine.
