The Sedgwick County Fair is held in Cheney Kansas every year in July. They have rides, 4-H animals, and lots of food and unique items for sale. The one thing they have that most do not is the fair idol. They have auditions to find people to sing and be judged. They are judged by local celebrities and have rewards for finishing in top spots. During with the fair, the demolition derby draws big crowds from towns all around Kansas.

This is a great place for fishing and feeding the ducks and geese. They have a great bike path used for walking, running, and biking. There are plenty of playgrounds for the kids. They have shelters for those who need them. They also have a great Renaissance Festival that they put on once a year that is fun for families.

If you want to see what it was like along time ago, this is the place to visit. They have different stores, houses, and schools to tour through. They have actors and actresses that play scenes from the old west. We had our daughter's birthday party there and it was a great time. We got a lot for the money and the staff was great.

I have been going there since I was a kid. Each time that I go it gets better and better. They have the newer African exhibit with meerkats, lions, and wart hogs. They kids loved it because it reminded the of the Lion King movie, and they could relate to the different animals. The gorilla exhibit is amazing, but my favorite will always be the Rainforest. It has one of kind birds and animals and a great scenic layout.

This is a beautiful place to take a scenic walk. In spring they have hundreds on different colors of tulips blooming. They have great kids days with different themes. We took the kids during a Disney day and they won DVDs. They got to plant their own flowers and take them home. They had hot chocolate stations on cold days. There is so much to do here. If you like plants and flowers, they have great ideas that you can take home with you.
