"Miss the old Cougareat, but this one works"
The new Cougareat is missing the "atmosphere" of the old one, and the nice high ceiling with world flags, but it is definitely working for the college student of today. A variety of fast food choices like Taco Bell and Pasta, Burgers, etc. but at a faster pace. We really visit the doughnut counter right at the front of it all and get a freshly made doughnut. They often run out by 10 am! College students work here. There is plenty of table space to sit down. If we want to eat on Campus though, we eat at Helaman Halls---now THAT'S an awesome buffet!

"One of the nicest Chuck-A-Ramas we have been to"
With little kids, we love buffet style restaurants, because there is always something for everyone and each picky little eater. We came here with freebie coupons for the kids from our library's reading program and this was a very nice, clean restaurant. The service was wonderful and the servers were helpful and kind. We came here on our way up to Idaho, so we may not go to this one again for some time. We came on a Sunday, which is the best menu in our opinion because it has all the good home-cooked options of roast beef, ham, prime rib, and about 12 different types of potatoes!

Brick Oven

We love Brick oven pizza, and whenever family visits, we usually take them here, since it's a "classic". We have been going here since my husband and I went to school at BYU, and the local mascot "Cosmo" often hangs out here after a game. It's mostly families here instead of just college students. Their pizza is fabulous, and their root beer is awesome too. I love their salad bar--it always looks fresh! Our kids love to come here and often choose it for their birthday too.

"This IS our neighborhood mini-mart "
We literally live 2 minutes walking from the BYU Creamery on NInth. They make their own ice cream and cheese, milk and other dairy products and their Ranch Dressing is the BEST EVER, and I am NOT KIDDING---WAY better than Hidden Valley, which used to be our favorite. Their milk just went "up" in price from 3 gallons for $5, to 3 gallons for $5.55, for which I am bummed, but understand why. We always get milk and the ranch here, and often run down for snacks and ice cream. We try not to actually purchase groceries here, as everything is definitely MORE than at a regular grocery store, because they are catering to students that also live here and may not have a car to go further.
A VERY yummy place to eat also---their burgers are fresh and yummerific.

Cafe Rio
1456 West Newpark Blvd,

This is one of my FAVORITE places to eat, and I don't even know if it's Utah-based? There is one close to our home and it is always crowded, because the pork tortillas are the BEST! I hate the beans, and the rice is okay, but the pico de gallo on the lettuce and yummy torillas are to die for! Cost Vida makes practically the same thing and they are fabulous as well! The 2-pork tacos are about $7.+ a piece, so it's about $15 for both my husband and I. We eat here monthly, I would say.
