About Me & My Family
Born in England, came to the US in 2001 for my job. Was planning on staying only a couple of years but then met my husband, got a dog, a house, and now we are married with two beautiful children. Love to travel and hope to inspire my kids to follow that love too.

Visiting family in Europe (Austria and England). The Austrian family meeting both children for the first time, and the English family meeting my daughter for the first time.
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
Me with a bad cold, just arrived at Heathrow Airport with a 1 year old at 9pm. Lost luggage, line a mile long and a snowy drive still ahead.

"Better for older kids (7+)"
This museum has a lot of interesting exhibits and I recommend it for kids who are into science. It is great for a rainy day as everything is indoors and contained. It's not so good for young kids and in some ways there is too much there so it's hard to focus. Also you need to get there early otherwise parking is a nightmare!

We always go visit the butterflies and birds, and then go down into the acquarium to see the fish. My kids are always excited and enthralled and this museum truly captures their budding imaginations. The only downsides are that it is a little expensive to visit especially if you have small kids and only want to be there for a couple of hours, and also that children under 5 can't go into the planetarium - I understand why, but for me, that' a shame.

"Always something fun to see"
Love this place! With membership, it's a cost effective way of spending a morning or afternoon. There is so much to see and do here and they always have special exhibits and events that cater to kids of every age, and adults too. My kids love the steam train (free for under 3's) and the petting zoo as well as watching the bears, giraffes etc. And then there;'s Boo at the Zoo (to get the most out of Halloween costumes) with healthy treats, and holiday gifts for the animals (the polar bear gets snow!).

"Time it when the weather is good!"
You can see spectacular views, spot dolphins and get some exercise. But make sure you go when it's not foggy - the wind screams through and it gets very cold and damp. Also watch out for the cyclists who go too fast - it can get a bit crowded (although we met a nice policelady on a bike who was giving stickers to the kids)

Great place for two small children. Plenty to see (sealions, boats, crab stalls etc) as well as do (carousel, ferry ride etc). A fun place to visit if you are at a loose end and want some relatively cheap entertainment! The shops are also fun to explore with plenty of cheap SF themed novalties
