Living Treasures Animal Park
288 Route 711,
Jones Mills,
Pennsylvania 15646
My kids LOVE this little zoo! We go at least a couple times every summer. What makes this zoo so special is that you can pet and/or feed ALMOST EVERY animal in the place! Including a baby zebra, baby camels, kangaroos, llamas, ponies, deer, etc. They also have 20 alligators on loan this year from Gatorland in Orlando.. VERY COOL! They have lions, tigers and a baby giraffe!! They also have pony rides and camel rides for an additional fee. My twin girls must ride the pony every visit. :) They also have (for an additional $5) a wagon ride that takes you into a fenced in area where the animals roam free and will come up to the wagon so you can touch them and feed them. Some of the animals in there are wild horses, a water buffalo, a zebra, birds that look like emu (but they were something different), and some other animals that I can't remember the names of at the moment but trust me, it was well worth the extra cost. This place will definitely be worth the drive and cost.. especially if you have kids that love animals.

"awesome indoor water park"
My family and I went here in February so we didn't get to use the outdoor stuff at all but it all looked really cool including a zip line, zoo, and outdoor pool and water activities. What we did experience was the indoor water park and let me say that it was really awesome! There was a lazy river, tons of water slides (too fast for me but the kids LOVED them), a wave thing that you could body surf on, a wave pool (pretty big too), an adults only hot tub, a family hot tub (both hot tubs were indoor/outdoor.. I LOVED the outdoor hot tub with the snow falling... so peaceful!!) and a small kids water area with a couple calmer sllides, a bucket that dumps water periodically and some other little things. The place is HUGE! The rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated and spacious. The restaurant was awesome! Breakfast was really good. And the bar that was IN THE WATER PARK was so awesome! I had a frozen drink while sitting in the adult only hot tub while the kids were with their much older sister. ;)

Presque Isle State Park
Peninsula Drive (P.O. Box 8510),
Erie,
Pennsylvania 16505
My family LOVES Presque Isle!! It is ALMOST like being at the ocean. Well, without the salty air and missing dolphins AND SHARKS! :) Seriously though, it is very beautiful with miles and miles of bike/walking/running trails that go around the entire peninsula. We always bring a picnic lunch and find a place on the beach with a picnic table and grill and spend the entire day! Yes there are picnic tables right on the beach! We always drive the whole way down one side of the peninsula then back part way up the other side to find a good spot. On the way down you have the view of Erie but when you go around the other side all you see is the lake. We usually will rent a (what do you call those bikes that seat 4-6 people and look like a car?) and ride around the fountain area. It's a very fun ride and well worth the money. There's also a very nice playground for the kids and plenty of bathrooms (with water/electric). Highly recommend Presque Isle!!

Moraine State Park
225 Pleasant Valley Road,
Portersville,
Pennsylvania 16051
My family and I have been to Moraine State Park many times. It is a very beautiful park! The views of the lake are amazing! There are hiking/biking trails, tons of shadey picnic areas, very nice playground for the kids and a small little beach too! Ok so the beach is very small but it's perfect for the kids! And there's a snack bar by the beach which the kids love. There's also boat rentals. My family and I are really looking forward to renting a pontoon boat for an afternoon.

Idlewild and SoakZone
US 30 West,

Let me start by saying this park is great!... for small kids. Most of the park is geared towards kids under 12, in my opinion. My twin 6 year old girls LOVE walking through story book forest. Story Book Forest is a nice shaded path that goes through nursery rhyme themes. Very cute. Most of the rides are able to be ridden by 4 year olds, including the octopus and the mouse (roller coaster). Kiddieland is also really nice. My twins LOVED this part. Lots of rides that are just right for 3-6 year olds. Then the water park is also amazing. They have water slides (which we didn't do) and a wave pool which was not too crowded when we were there so it was really nice since it was so hot when we went. There's also a very nice kiddie pool which the girls enjoyed. There's bathrooms, changing rooms and showers right in the middle of the pool area which was convenient. The food at the park is so-so, but the part that I love is that I can take in my own food and sit on one of the many picnic tables under a pavilion and enjoy our much cheaper lunch (Subway usually). I definitely recommend this park for anyone who has small children.
