Coco Key Water Resort - Sheraton Cincinnati North
11320 Chester Road,
Cincinnati,
Ohio 45246
"Fun even when there's no sun"
I thought that CoCo Key was a little pricey since we decided not to do a package deal with a room, we just went to celebrate a family member's birthday. So admission was quite a bit for 2 adults and a baby just to spend a couple of hours. We did enjoy the slides and I loved the lazy river. My little boy was a little scared because music was playing so loudly that he never really got a chance to enjoy the kiddie side of the resort. There was also a lot of people since it was during Christmas break, so that was another downfall. It's a fun place though and now that my little boy is a bit older, I think he will get to enjoy it as much as his parents did!

Slate Run Historical Farm
SLATE RUN LIVING HISTORICAL FARM 1375 State Route 674 N.,
Canal Winchester,
Ohio 43110
"Great place to visit for the family"
We love visiting the slate run historical farm when the weather is nice! It's part of the metro parks here in columbus Ohio and so it's free to the public. This is a historical and educational park that allows the public to see various ways that a farm was run in the 1880's. There's not a lot of animals but a good amount in for a small farm. Roosters, pigs, turkeys, ducks, cows, sheep, and horses. We love to just walk around the open space and see the different animals. It's a nice, close place to go to get out of the country and allow my little boy to enjoy country living!

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
3900 Wildlife Way,
Cleveland,
Ohio 44109
"nice zoo but I've seen better"
We were in Cleveland for a conference and decided to take in some fun activities during our free time. We love going to zoo's so that was at the top of our list. We were kind of disappointed. We did enjoy the uniqueness of the rain forest exhibit but other than that we didn't think the zoo was that impressive on the whole. One of the biggest letdowns are that some animals are in very confined spaces. I usually don't think much about that when visiting a zoo but this just stood out. For the price and experience, I'd visit the Columbus Zoo rather than waste my time and money at the Cleveland zoo. It's not the worst place ever, but just don't have high expectations.

Innis Woods
INNISWOOD METRO GARDENS 940 S. Hempstead Road,
Westerville,
Ohio 43081
This is a great park to enjoy a nice day out. We've been there several times with our toddler son. The trails are beautiful and there are various fun locations for him to play. His favorite spot has a water wheel that kids love to play around. He also loves the lake where you can see frogs, snakes, dragonflies, etc in a natural environment. There's many nice places to take pictures and just enjoy the outdoors. It's one of our favorite free summer activities!

National Zoo
3001 Connecticut Avenue NW,
Washington,
Virginia 20008
During our visits to Washington DC we typically do they typical
visits to monuments and museums. So as a change we decided to go to the National zoo. I was preggo with our son at the time so didn't get to see everything but it was so fun! We loved the pandas which are a zoo rarity. Plus admission is free--so that's unbelievable! We didn't feel like it was a 'waste' leaving without seeing everything cause no money involved! Can't wait to go back and take my little boy!
