Saint Louis Zoo

Saint Louis,

"My favorite zoo - hands down"
We have been to many zoos, including Omaha and San Diego and this is BY FAR my favorite, partly because it is free, but mostly because it is so well done. They do such a good job making the animals accessible (safely, of course) while also keeping them in a realistic habitat. All the zoo staff is friendly and helpful and there is more to do in a day that you could possibly do. Make a trip to St. Louis just to see it. Our family does!

Mendenhall Glacier Kayaking
9085 Glacier Highway Suite 301 ,
Juneau,

"Best Activity in Alaska!"
If you only do one thing in Juneau (and you have teens), you NEED to kayak the Mendenhall Glacier. You get a great guide, great views and great exercise that combine for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This is probably the best way I can think of to get up close and personal with a glacier! Make sure to research proper clothing beforehand because the water isn't warm and it rained the entire time we were out on the water - still my favorite Alaska experience!

White Pass Railway
231 Second Avenue ,
Skagway,
Alaska
"Fantastic way to experience Alaska"
There are so many things to do while in SE Alaska, but this is one for the must-do list. The train ride is relaxing and breathtaking. It would be very comfortable and interesting for the entire family. If you have older children only, consider riding the train up into Canada and biking back down to Skagway, but make sure to bring VERY warm clothing if you go before July.

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater
18300 W. Alameda Parkway,
Morrison,
Colorado 80465
"A nature experience for the whole family"
The Red Rocks Park & Amphitheater is a great place for the whole family to take in some incredible views, unique topography and fresh air. Take your young ones here in the late afternoon and let them run up and down the stairs to burn off some energy. If it wouldn't seem to bother others, sing together as a family - it sounds amazing!

Malibu Speedzone

"Great for older kids; groups"
We took a large group of teens here and it was a great way to spend a good part of a day. There was a lot of bang for the buck and almost all the students (and adults) said this was the most fun activity of the entire trip. We arranged to have a meal provided and were treated very well in a private party room. The cost was very reasonable and the quantities were more than sufficient. Highly recommend!
