We Just Got Back From
Los Angeles
Our Favorite Vacation Spot
Disneyland, so far
A Place We'd Love To Visit
San Francisco
Favorite Vacation Memory
One of my favorites was when we went to Disneyland Jan '09 with my parents and my younger sister. It was so nice to have the extra pairs of hands and it helped that we could split up and some could ride the more adult rides and then switch off. I think it was touching to go back to where my parents took my brother, my sister, and I so many years ago.
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
I think my husband would say when he flew with our oldest when he was 18 months old, from California to south Texas. Apparently he cried the entire time, literally.

Stonebriar Centre Mall
2601 Preston Road,
Frisco,
Texas 75034
"Great for families of all sizes and ages!!"
I absolutely love this mall centre!! It has everything for everyone in your family. Food wise it has many choices for all sorts of cravings, running from very nice food court, to Dave & Busters, Cheesecake Factory, and California Pizza Kitchen. If you don't feel like shopping there is a two story Barnes & Noble and a very nice movie theater on the second floor. There are also a children's play area as well as a nice family changing area near the regular restrooms. This is a great place when the weather is too uncomfortable to be outside!!

Rooftop Pizzeria
60 East San Francisco Street,
Santa Fe,
New Mexico 87501
"Great for adult crowd!"
We were passing through Santa Fe for one night and our hotel recommened Rooftop because we didn't want a chain pizza and plus our boys LOVE pizza. It is located in the plaza in the middle of town and has a great patio seating area even though we didn't sit out there. According to our server that is the place to eat during a sunset!! The resturant does not lend itself to younger kids even though everyone was very polite and accomodating for our needs of a highchair and such. My husband and I wanted to be adventurous and try a "different" pizza and was pleasantly surprised. Our boys on the other hand did not like their verson of a cheese pizza. But again to not fault the resturant, they have more of upscale pizza. If my husband and I go through there again by ourselves we would definetly go back!

Santa Barbara Zoological Gardens | kids travel, kids activities
Santa Barbara Zoological Gardens
500 Ninos Drive,
Santa Barbara,
California 93103
"Great, Manageable Zoo!!!"
You couldn't find a more perfect place for a zoo!!! Basically steps away from the beach, down the street from a Merry-Go-Round, and an additional park!! Before I get started on all the wonderful points about the zoo, my only drawback is the cost of going. This includes admission, the train ride, food, and if you stop by the gift shop. But onto the great stuff! This is a great museum if you don't want to be overwhelmed. The main path is basically one big circle and you see all the animals. They have great views of the animals and many different vantage points to see them so it doesn't feel too crowded.
Been there multiple times when there is a nice breeze coming off the ocean and sometimes you can see the ocean from inside the park!!
There are also large grassy areas where you can see and enjoy lunch or the shows. There is also a kid play area where they can climb and chase their friends to their hearts content.
The food is okay, it's the usual zoo food and can be pricey. I have actually split the kid meals with my boys because the portions are huge for kids. I believe you can bring in your own food but please check their website for that.
You can also feed the giraffes at certain times as well which the children love.
Now the location can't be beat!! You can make a weekend out of going, going to the beach, walk the pier and such.
Loads of fun for the family!

Murray Family Farms
6700 General Beale Road,
Bakersfield,
California 93307
"Defiently a Working Farm"
My family and I have been to this farm on a few occasions, a couple of times in October and then just to go to get some fresh produce. I think about two years ago, they finally finished renovations on the huge red barn and turned it into a general store of sorts. There is a few animals that you have to pay to go inside to pet the goats and sheep. But I don't feel that's it worth it because it's very dirty and there usually isn't an employee there. You can just walk around the let the children see the animals. I have always found that there isn't a clear direction on what to do and how to get around the farm. You have to keep asking questions to either go picking on the farm, to take the tractor ride (which is also another additional cost), or to go play in the "kiddie" area. The produce on the other hand is very abundant and varied and you get a whole lot for the cost. This is a good trip every once in a while for something different to do, but not at the top of my list.

Dallas World Aquarium
1801 North Griffin Street,
Dallas,
Texas 75202
"Great, fabulous if it weren't for the price!"
We have visited this aquarium twice now and love going. It is kinda pricey to go on a whim but the diversity of animals is amazing and you get so close to some of them, you can almost reach out and touch them. It has a very smart layout in that you follow one path to go through the entire aquarium. There is no multiple hallways to get lost in. You can take your time and stop and take many pictures!! The last time we went my youngest go to feed some of the birds and we atually stood underneath a sloth hanging from the lowlying branch above, not more than three feet above us. There are multiple eating establishments there, I would recommmed calling to ask for their hours as to when the resturants are open. The staff is very helpful in guiding you through the exhibts and are many open spaces so you don't feel crowded in with your children.
