Miller Park Zoo

"Great for small children"
Our family loves Miller Park Zoo and we have a membership but our children were only 18 months old when we got our membership! The zoo is small but well cared for and is improving the animal enclosures all the time! Our favorite is the Outback exhibit (that may not be the actual name my kids like to call it that because all of the animals in it are from Australia). They also have a children's petting zoo and children's building where the kids can do some fun zoo activities.
If you are there in the morning or the afternoon there is also a sea lion show (the otter feeding is RIGHT after) and you can watch them feed the tiger as well! There are a few shows that you should check when you enter the zoo to see if they are on as well, the shows are great for kids as well!
If you have younger children this zoo is perfect!

"Something for Everyone..."
We live one block from Miller Park and find ourself at the park for something or another at least once during the week!
The twins and I head to the Zoo once a week where we see the tiger, all the birds, the monkey and get to pet the goats! We have a membership to the zoo so that we can go whenever we want! The zoo is great for a short trip and costs about $4.00 for an adult -- sorry I cannot remember too well as we paid once and that is all! It is a very basic zoo but a lot of fun and even has a fun merry a go round!
They just built an amazing new play ground right next to the zoo and that playground also includes a splash park that is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. There are always a few children on the playground and it is very big!
Right next to the new playground is a newly revamped mini-golf course! I have yet to get to play but it was fun before it was completely remodeled and made even better!
There are baseball and soccer fields, a theater for outdoor performances of everything from plays to the orchestra, war memorials, a huge lake to fish in or walk around, bridges and a huge air-conditioned and heated pavilion for all of your family needs provided that you rent it from the city prior to the date of your need (there are also MANY open air pavilions throughout the park)!
There is so much to do at this park if you cannot find something to do you are not looking hard enough or it is winter!

Children's Discovery Museum

"Great for kids of all ages"
We took our twins here for the first time for their Second Birthday! We were not sure how they would like it but they loved it, our daughter had a melt down when we took her away from the water portion, our son loved the tractors to drive, they both played in the store! I also think they would have loved the art area but by the time we made it to the 3rd floor the art area was closing so they did not get to try that! Since we live in the area we will be purchasing a family pass for winter fun! I think we will be visiting this museum for years to come!
If you are coming from out of town you may want to call ahead and get the best directions for visiting as there is some major road construction going on around the museum.
