Laurel Hill Playground

"Good playground for everyone!"
We like this playground because there is something for everyone. The playground itself is mainly surrounded by sand and concrete. There is a basketball court, tennis court and a baseball field; and there is one regular size picnic table slightly under a tree from which you can get some shade during a late sunny afternoon. Our son loves to kick his soccer ball around and there's plenty of grassy area to do that here. And when he is done with kicking ball, he goes back to the playground for more fun! There's a water fountain and bathroom on the premise (very useful to have!). Parking is easy. We love it here.

"Decent playground with tennis court nearby"
This is one of the smaller playgrounds we've been to, but it has decent play structures. There's a picnic table right next to the playground so you can eat or chat with your girlfriends while you can keep an eye on your kids playing. It's mainly sand and concrete. If it's a sunny day, make sure you bring sunblock or sun hat for the kids and yourself. There are no trees around to provide shade on a sunny day. If you like playing tennis, there are also 2 tennis courts next to the playground. There is a bathroom there, but unfortunately, every time we are there on the weekends, it's locked! Overall, it was an ok playground. We didn't have any problems with finding parking.

"Great library for kids"
This library just reopened in May 2009 after renovations. I think it's a really nice library. I go there mainly for my son because there's an awesome library in the basement for the children with a pretty good size selection of books. They put in a bathroom right there in the children's area so you don't have to drag them all over the library to find one! There is also a simple, small playground right outside the library. It's in a nice neighborhood as well. Finding parking may be difficult depending on time of day; however, if you don't mind a little walk and you're desperate for a parking space, there's quite a few available metered parking along Geary Blvd.

"An OK playground with picnic area"
We lucked out when we went there recently. It was nice and sunny, which feels so rare in SF! Playground is not the biggest I've seen, but it's pretty good with typical play structures surrounded by sand. The playground is surrounded by grassy area where you'll find people picnicking, reading, napping, or sun bathing (on sunny days of course!). Because it was nice and sunny and we were with good company, we had a nice time picnicking there while my son amused himself at the playground. I'd give 3-stars for the ok playground and because parking was difficult! 4-stars because of the good picnic area for adults/family.

"Cool Playground"
We don't visit this park very often because it is far from where we live, but it is one of our favorites. The playground is kept clean. It's a relatively new park I think, or at least it looks like it. All the play structures look fairly new. My 5-year old enjoys playing there. He loves playing in the sand and there's pretty good size sand area there. There's a small 2 car-train wooden structure there that my son likes as well. If you want to bring your lunch, there are only about 3 small, round picnic tables you can use. It's a beautiful playground that sits on top of the hill. Nice view from up there. The only reason I'm giving it a 4-star is because it gets quite windy up there (and cold too); that takes away some of my own enjoyment of being there. But, if you ask my son, he probably won't even notice the wind because he is so busy playing!
