"Fun way to see downtown with the kids!"
We stayed at Embassy Suites Downtown by the Convention Center. There is a Streetcar stop in front of the hotel. My kids both enjoyed taking the streetcar around town and we never got our car out of valet our entire trip. You can access Amalie Arena, Cotanchobee Ft Brooke Park (playground and splash pad), the Riverwalk, History Center, Channelside, the Aquarium, cruise terminal, and Ybor City from the streetcar. This was a great way to explore the city without walking in the hot Florida sun which can make any kid (or adult) cranky!

"A great way explore downtown Tampa"
We love the Tampa Water Bike Co!! Our family was looking for something different to do downtown Tampa and for a way to get on the water. Very family friendly!

My 12 yr old enjoyed the water bike and it was very easy to use. My six year old was a little scared of the bikes (she would have ridden on my bike) so we took out the tandem kayak. The kayaks came with pedals and it was very easy to get around the river. Both the bikes and kayaks were very clean and in great condition. Perfect for any skill level; we're novices on the water and had no problems at all. Life jackets are required for kids and provided for all adults.

You can explore all different areas of the Tampa Riverwalk. The river takes you from the Tampa Convention Center all the way down towards Curtis Hixon Park, Glazer Children's Museum and the Straz Center. While on the water look out for wildlife. We saw a family of 3 dolphins playing nearby and the owner said they've seen manatees, stingrays and lots of different fish.

Don't forget to bring some water, a hat, and some sunscreen. It gets hot in the summer. If you bring your phone or camera be sure it's in a waterproof case with a float. Check their website for pricing and hours of operation. Super friendly employees. We'll definitely be back!

Embassy Suites Tampa Downtown | kids travel, kids activities
Embassy Suites Tampa Downtown
513 S Florida Ave,
Tampa, Florida
"Great location in the heart of Tampa Bay"
The Embassy Suites Downtown Tampa is in the perfect location to explore everything Tampa has to offer. It's located across from the Tampa Convention Center. Easy access to downtown public transportation with a streetcar and trolley stop right outside the hotel. Embassy Suites is located adjacent to Amalie Arena and walking distance to the Riverwalk. The streetcar is a quick way to access Channelside, the cruise terminal, Port of Tampa, Florida Aquarium, and Ybor.

The Embassy Suites brand is always a great place to stay with the kids! Parents will love their own space and the kids will enjoy their "suite" with a television and sleeper sofa. You can always count on made-to-order breakfasts; including omelets and a full breakfast bar FREE each morning for the entire family. The evening manager's reception always offers free snacks, soft drinks, juices, and adult drinks for mom and dad!

All rooms come with a small kitchenette with microwave, mini-fridge, sink and coffee pot. Our family loves to pick up snacks and drinks to keep on hand to help us save money while traveling. With the kitchen table, the Embassy Suites rooms feel more like a small apartment than a hotel room.

On-site there is a pool overlooking the Tampa Bay, a fitness center, gift and snack shop, and a full service Starbucks. The Trolley restaurant also offers small and quick meals for lunch and dinner if you don't want to leave the hotel.

Rooms are clean and staff is friendly. If you're driving, parking is by valet only. Wifi is available for a fee; Hilton Honor members can save on wifi.

Overall, this hotel was exactly what you expect for an Embassy Suites and Hilton Family hotel. A great hotel for work or play.

"Breathtaking Family Experience for Christmas"
We made a special trip just to see the annual Christmas Celebration!!

In addition to the regular shows and attractions, there is an entire Christmas village set up and special shows. The little kids love taking a trip on the Polar Express to see Santa. The older kids love seeing Shamu and the Winter Wonderland on Ice.

Adults and kids will love O Wondrous Night, the live nativity performed by singers, dancers, animals and puppets. The street performers and entertainers were an added bonus as you walked through the park.

Don't miss the Sea of Trees each night overlooking Bayside Stadium. The annual Christmas light and music spectacular lights up the lake. Grab some coffee and smores in the Christmas Village while you watch the show.

Sea World really knows how to celebrate Christmas and I love that it's included with your regular admission tickets.

"Beautiful show!!"
A beautiful ice skating show at Bayside Stadium during the Christmas holiday. Nightly shows are included in your regular admission tickets. Stay for the fireworks after the show. The holiday music, fireworks and sea of trees can be seen and heard from the Winter Wonderland on Ice.
