The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead

"Living it up in style!"
If you are looking for a place to live it up and be spoiled you must stay at the Ritz-Carlton in Buckhead. The location is perfect for you shoppers - with Lenox on one side and Phipps Plaza on the other! The rooms at the Ritz have everything you could ever imagine (and more); workout videos, books, fully stocked mini-bar, etc. I dare you to stay on the 9th floor and NOT book a day at the spa! The friendly staff at the spa know just how to get you to commit to making your stay a relaxing one. The spa facility is just what a busy mom needs to find peace and quiet for an hour (or three) and unwind after a day at the mall. Customer service is 5-star at the Ritz. I had a minor problem with the wifi connection in the the room (um, user error) and after fixing the problem they rewarded me with a special cheese platter for my problems; did I mention it was "user error" and NOT their problem? Seriously, wow!! Hands down, the best hotel I've stayed at in Atlanta.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom | kids travel, kids activities

"The Most Relaxing of the Disney Parks"
Animal Kingdom is one of the most relaxing of the Disney theme parks. You can stroll through the animal habitats or take the train back to Rafiki's Planet Watch where you can even find a small petting zoo. The most exciting part of the park is the Kilimanjaro Safari jeep ride. You'll explore the African-savanna and see elephants, rhinos, and giraffe's as they roam freely around you. If you like shows, you'll want to get the schedule for Finding Nemo - the musical and for the Festival of the Lion King. Both shows will leave you breathless and the kids will enjoy the live performances. For the extra adventuresome don't miss out on the Expedition Everest or the Dinosaur ride. Have your kids pick up their Wilderness Explorer guides and earn special stamps in their passport as they travel through the park. You can easily do most (if not all) of Animal Kingdom in a day and the lines are usually the smallest of all the parks. Always a fun place to relax after the long lines at the other parks.

"Marine education at it's finest!"
If you can't see marine life in person there is no better place to learn about the animals than SeaWorld. You can get up close and personal with dolphins, penguins, manatees, sharks, and whales! Learn all about how they live in the wild and why we need to take care of the environment to protect their habitats in the wild. Your little one's will enjoy the shows and animal encounters; while the big kids will enjoy the roller coasters. Plan to spend the day and grab a schedule of showtimes as you enter the park. Some shows are only offered a few times a day and you don't want to miss them. If you come around the holiday's you'll enjoy even more family fun. We've visited during their Halloween Spooktacular and their Christmas celebrations. A great theme park to visit with the whole family; young and old!

"It's where the magic happens!"
Who doesn't love the Magic Kingdom!! As a Florida resident we've spoiled ourselves with season passes to the Magic Kingdom and it never gets old. The look in your kid's eyes as they see their favorite characters for the first time is priceless. Our best tip is to come early and stay through mid-day, go back to your room for a short rest, and then come back for the late night fireworks. While you could do the entire park in one day, your family will have more fun if you relax and not stress out with the long lines. Some of the most fun is doing the smaller, lesser known rides and adventures. Be sure to stop by the depot inside the gate if you are celebrating a special event.

Eagle's Nest Beach Resort
410 S Collier Blvd,
Marco Island, Florida
"Resort living right on the beach!"
What a hidden surprise! We had never been to Marco Island before and found the Eagle's Nest through the Hilton Grand Vacation Club. The Eagle's Nest was a 2 bedroom condo with a full kitchen, 2 baths, and a full living room with sleeper sofa. We easily slept 2 families with a total of 7 people (3 kids and 4 adults) with no problem at all. The screened in balcony overlooked the beach for the best views around. They have nice pools on site for the whole family but the best part is the short walk down the path to the white sandy beaches. Marco Island isn't a large island but there are some great seafood restaurants if you feel like going out for the evening. With the full kitchen we shopped locally and made most of our meals in the room. If you're looking for relaxation; Marco Island is the place for you.
