About Me & My Family

I am currently a mother of a 1year old little girl. I am a teacher and tend to keep very busy through the school year with responsibilities for not only my little girl but the 35 or so students I see every day. We are currently saving for the purchase of our first home and I cannot wait to be able to get out and travel as much as I used to.

"Beautiful and great service"
I have had the pleasure of staying at the Doubletree Anaheim Resort on multiple occasions. I love that they are suites with bedrooms that are closed off from both the bathroom and living room area. This is fantastic so that you are relegated to going to sleep when your little ones crash for the night. I particularly love that the sink and vanity are both outside the bedroom area and the tub/toilet area. This makes getting ready in the morning much less of a hassle. Now you don't have to wait for someone to get out of the shower just to brush your teeth or do your makeup.

One of the perks is being greeted at check-in with the famous warm Doubletree cookies. Oh and just so you know, you can ask for them anytime from the clerks in the lobby, not just at check-in! Also, EVERY time I have stayed there, the customer service has be absolutely fabulous. They were warm, friendly and had great answers to my questions.

I am a bargain hunter, so its average rate and the fact that there isn't any form of free family breakfast are the only things that keep me from giving this a full 5 stars.

"Lots of space!"
I stayed here for one night with my parents on our way back from my brother's graduation from Marine's boot camp. There are many room types from the standard suite, to 2 bedroom and bunk bed suites. The rooms are large and standard amenities include a mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave.

There is a free breakfast buffet served on the top floor and in good weather you can take your food out to the patio. The choices consisted of make your own waffles, eggs, sausage, potatoes, cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. Nothing new and exciting but a good (and free) start to your day.

The only downside is that the suite we were in had a step down living room on the far end. Luckily my daughter wasn't walking yet, but even with her crawling this was a bit of an issue. I am not sure if they had baby gates to use as we were only there for a night. If you have little ones that haven't perfected the art of stair climbing and de-climbing, I would check to make sure your room didn't have the step-down area. (FYI - my brother's (smaller) room did not have a step down area).

"Meh..."
I stayed here with my husband (then boyfriend) on two separate occasions. On one occasion we upgraded to corner, Disney facing, concierge level room. Upon arrival, and after waiting an hour to check-in due to computer problems, our reservation was wrong. We were supposed to be on the top floor and were placed instead on another floor. On another occasion we had a standard room.

The hotel overall is fine, but for the price you can get a much larger, newer and better equipped room somewhere else nearby. I didn't make use of any child amenities, but I do remember that their gym required an extra charge and minimum age of 18.
