About Me & My Family

I am the busy mom of 4 young children. We love to check out new places, and we typically drive wherever we go. My husband is a Captain in the United States Air Force, and I teach preschool part time. When I'm not taking care of my children, teaching preschool, or traveling with my family I enjoy taking pictures, crocheting, keeping a family blog, and learning to quilt and knit. I hope my review will be helpful to some families out there!

Our Favorite Vacation Spot
Niagara Falls
A Place We'd Love To Visit
most of the East Coast!
Favorite Vacation Memory
When we were visiting Niagara Falls in Canada, and we had our oldest child with us, who was only about 10 months old at the time. There were groups of asian tourists that kept stopping us to admire our chubby blue eyed baby, and one group even asked if they could get a picture taken with her.
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
day 1 of the drive to Disneyland when our children took turns puking in the car for like 5 hours...I thought that day would never end, and there's nothing like arriving at your hotel for the first night already toting like 2 loads of laundry with us.

"An indoor park in MN - genius!"
Minnesota is a fabulous place to visit, especially during the beautiful summer months when temperatures are mild, and there are so many lakes around. However, living there for 3 and 1/2 years, we discovered that the winters tend to be miserably long. So, we were VERY excited when we discovered that there was an indoor park close by. Edinborough is well kept, affordable, and fun! One area is a big fun treehouse with lots of room to climb, slide, crawl, jump, etc. Then there is a separate room that is just a great big gym with a bounce house, lots of balls, riding toys, etc. It is such a fabulous place to take the kids and let them run and spend their energy, especially when they've been cooped up all winter. They also do birthday parties!

"Beautiful views, but kind of pricey for what it is"
We enjoyed the views at Seven Falls, and it was fine to climb the many many stairs to get a closer look. However, I'm not sure I would pay the admission price to visit again. We went because we had family from out of town visiting us, and it was very pretty, just think it ought to be something that can be visited for free. There was a native american dance at the base of the falls that the kids really enjoyed, but I'm not sure how often those go on.

"Who Knew a Flour Mill Could be So Fascinating?!"
We visited the Mill City museum, and were pleasantly surprised at what a neat place it was. Taking the elevator movie/tour was definitely the best part. It was fascinating to learn all about how old flour mills used to operate. There were also some hands on activities for the kids, and it's in a nice location on the Mississippi River. This was a great place to learn a little history and have some family fun!

"A day of history and fun!"
We really enjoyed this place! Our kids were only about 3 and 5 when we visited, and they loved it. The one room school house was full of old fashioned toys, and they loved ringing the school bell out front. Riding in the horse drawn carriage from the visitor's center out to the "town" was also a highlight. There were dressed up characters there to bring the little town to life, and it is positioned right along the river, which makes for great scenery. I would definitely recommend visiting Murphy's Landing!

"Fun place, we'd go back!"
We had a good time at the Denver Children's Museum. The kids really enjoyed the firetruck, painting, and the little grocery store area. We have been to several children's museums, and this one is good, but not great. Keep in mind that you always have to pay for everybody - children and adults, so it can get pretty spendy. We'll likely visit again, but it's not one I'd buy a membership to.
