"A gross, ugly, nasty place compared to others"
This sounds pretty harsh, but when we went, it was bare, ugly, rocky nasty pebbles (not sand) and the water looked so murky muddy and gross, I didn't let my kids stick their toes in it! We saw a couple of dead fish as well, and we left. We didn't go to any other spots here, so I didn't see if there was something better since it was getting dark. I have been on the other "side" of Utah lake, and the water is about the same, but better places to sit than this "beach'.

"A lovely temple! Beautiful landscape!"
Our favorite thing to "do" at a temple is walk around it as a family and just enjoy the gardens and plants. Even in the winter there is beautiful shrubbery and foliage. They are perfectly kept up! The Temple itself is lovely and it's nice to just sit on a bench or the grass and relax.

"A lovely mall/area, but not much else"
So.....we came here both in the Summer and Christmas, but it was pretty much just an outside "mall" of sorts and in the wintertime that wasn't too much fun having to go in and out into the cold all the time. The summer had the fountains, and those were really fun, except a couple of my kids were scared to go in them, while the other two had a blast, BUT we didn't really prepare for it so I didn't want them getting soaked. A ritzy-type mall---we didn't spend a dime here, but we did get something at Build-a-Bear around Christmas. Nothing special as far as stores go that I remember

"We FINALLY went here and my boys loved it!"
My boys are huge jet and airplane fans, and whenever we drive I-15 to Idaho we always see the jet next to the freeway, so we FINALLY stopped off and looked at them! There is an "outside" part with about a dozen ? or so older airplane/jets and it was hot, so I stayed in their shade! Then the inside has a history and then LOTS of neat airplanes through the ages. My son got to see inside the cockpit of a newer jet as well and he thought that was way cool. I liked reading about it, and the gift shop was fun to look around.

"Really a great amusement park for Utah!"
A great amusement park, and they have done a good job cleaning it up over the last few years. It used to be more Teenager-type fun, but now it is much more family friendly. The kiddy area is cute and has about a dozen different rides, including a kiddie roller coaster, cars to "drive", a jet ride, helicopter ride, boat ride and a few more I can't remember. My kids love it. :) We have gone here for the Halloween week as well, and that is fun too, plus a little cooler! :)
