Academy of Natural Sciences
Nineteenth Street and Ben Franklin Parkway,
Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania 19103
"Informational"
This is another really cool museum in Philly. Kids might prefer the Franklin Institute to this one, but it is also family-friendly. They have a butterfly room which is fun. Other than that there are a lot of informational exhibits and displays, but not too many hands-on things.

Liberty Bell Center | kids travel, kids activities
Liberty Bell Center
6th and Market St,
Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania 19106
"Historical"
The Liberty Bell is interesting and historical, but may be boring for kids. You have to wait typically in a very long line, just to see it, and that's pretty much all there is to see. There are some informational things on the walls, but I can't see it being that exciting for children.

Reading Terminal Market | kids travel, kids activities
Reading Terminal Market
Twelfth and Arch Streets,
Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania
"Wonderful"
Reading Terminal Market is a great place to go to! There are tons of different places to eat at and little vendors. There is incredible food from almost any ethnicity you can imagine. It gets really crowded however; so make sure to keep kids close by. If you are a foodie, this is the place for you.

"Educational and fun"
I loved going here growing up! There are so much hands-on and cool things to see. They have a giant heart you can walk through, and an aviation room to play in. There is also a moving train. They also have an incredible planetarium, and a really cool IMAX theater. Definitely recommended!

The Philadelphia Zoo | kids travel, kids activities
The Philadelphia Zoo
3400 West Girard Avenue,
Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania 19104
"Huge"
The Philadelphia Zoo is a very large zoo. It is really kid friendly, as they have petting and feeding areas, and a butterfly garden. They also have a feature where you but a key to the zoo and plug it in at any exhibit and it'll give information about the animals, which is fun for kids.
