"Explore marine life and maritime culture"
Watch sharks, jellies, sea turtles, and more than 1,000 other marine animals. Or enjoy a film in the IMAX movie theater. The current exhibit is Dinosaur Island, where robotic dinosaurs and an 3D sim adventure ride teach about the extinction. It seems dinosaurs are always a hit with both boys and girls when you take a friends child for the afternoon and don't know where to take them. The Maritime Aquarium also offers a really unique atmosphere for special events, like weddings, corporate parties and proms. An event at the Center was amazing - each course is in a different part of the museum. Cocktails are served with a Raw Bar in front of the Open Ocean exhibit. Dancing is in front of the seals who look like they love music. They also do less formal events such as clambakes.

"Great place"
you've never made it for a day trip, I'd highly recommend it. So affordable and a mangeable size for a younger family. A carousel, pony rides, train ride and various animal exhibits. Gotta love the golden tamarins! Enjoy the adjacent playground and county park facilities. They recently added a wonderful indoor learning center that is a welcome cooling off point. The food for purchase is limited but picnic tables are available in the park.

"Beautiful!"
Berkshire Botanical Gardens is a beautiful place to visit no matter what time of year that you visit. They also have excellent programs for children. I have also attended some informational workshops there, and always come away with something new.

"Good complement to FDR House"
Visiting this museum is a good complement to a visit to the FDR House, Library and Museum. The house at Val Kill is not nearly as nice as the FDR house, but it looks comfortable nevertheless. The land doesn't appear to be quite as big as the FDR house site, and the view is certainly not as nice as the FDR house which overlooks the Hudson River. However, a visit to the FDR House would not really be complete without a visit to Val Kill to see how Eleanor lived after FDR's death.

"Hours of fun for the kids! "
This children's museum will hold my 4 yr old's attention for hours! It has 2 stories of activities, including a playzone that is supposed to depict the human heart. Downstairs has a newly renovated "town" where kids can visit the firehouse, bakery, or work on a construction project.

It can get quite crowded on a rainy day or when a birthday party is held there.

Also has a gift shop with AWESOME education toys and games.
