About Me & My Family

We are always on the go, our families are always amazed at how often we are on the road traveling with 2 kids. Whether it be to visit relatives across country or taking a trip to the snow we love to travel as a family.

Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
Trying to change a screaming baby diaper on the side of a road coming home from the beach, and of course he had diaper rash from the sand, ughhhhhh the things we learn from our first children!

LAKE TAHOE RESORT

"Nice overnight hotel"
We stayed here with our 2 children (2 and 4) overnight while skiing at Sierra. The rooms were nice but nothing special. Big enough for the 4 of us. Very nice that they included the fridge, microwave, sink combo.

The only drawback is that they are very strict on check in/out times. We were there an hour early and they would not let us check in. Parking is $16 which is a little steep in my opinion.

We used the daycare/playroom which was nice for the kids, they also have an area for the tweens. The pool was really cold, almost unbearable, and the jacuzzi was crowded, but the kids had fun.

They had all the amenities that you could need for a quick trip to Lake Tahoe.

"Learn with ease"
Our 4.5 year old was ready to learn how to ski this year and we decided to let him take a lesson at the ski school. The dropping off was a little hectic since all the parents were trying to get there child signed in. I felt a little rushed at saying goodbye so quickly.

I was able to watch my son a little bit at the bottom of the ski school area, it was nice because you are far enough away to not be a bother yet still see the kids.

The ski class was small and my son said he had a great time. We ended up purchasing more lessons that day for him.

Make sure to keep your check in tag, they don't let the kids out without you showing it to them. We lost ours and had to get a replacement which included showing ID. Needless to say security is a priority here.

"No worries here!"
I was so nervous to leave our 22 month old in day care all day while we were skiing, however the staff was so great and attentive it put me at ease. The staff was really friendly and even though my daughter was screaming bloody murder while we were leaving they held her and calmed her down. They told us it usually takes 10 minutes or so for the kids to relax.

They make sure all cell phone numbers are recorded and you also can check the white boards by the lifts for your name if you are needed back at daycare.

When I picked up my daughter she was so happy, hanging out with a new buddy eating a snack. They even give you a report card to tell you what went on during your child's day. I recommend this daycare if you want to ski all day or even part of the day.

"Fun Fun Fun"
If you have a chance to go to the Oakland Zoo, then do! It is small but has very impressive animal areas. The kids love it as well as the adults. They have many rides that you have to purchase additional tickets for as well. If you purchase a membership you are able to get discounts on other entrance fees to other zoos and museums.

"Fun place for kids"
This pumpkin patch is huge and has a ton of activities for kids of all ages, including hay rides, carousels, corn maze and more! They have food or you can bring in some snacks. Tons of pumpkins and a little train ride that takes you around the pumpkin patch. The only downfall is that it can be expensive to ride all the rides. Even without doing the rides it is still a fun experience!
