About Me & My Family
My husband and I have a daughter 2 1/2 years old and I have a 9 year old son from my first marriage and my husband has a 21 year old daughter and a 17 year old son from his first marriage. We love to travel all of us as a family. We have visited so many different places all over the country. My children love to travel and are so good on planes and in long car rides. California State Railroad Museum
111 I Street,
Sacramento,
California 95814
"a very educational expierence and more"
Oh wow this place is awesome. My son has loved this place since he could walk. On rainy days or just days when its really hot we have gone here to just walk through. My son has always been amazed at the trains. He is 9 years old and still loves them. They are quite amazing and you can even walk on a few and look at see what it must have been like to work on the train. they have a lot of knowledgable people working on the trains and throughout the museum itself. the downstairs are all large trains and a lot of facts on the history of trains. the upstairs is also a lot of reading material and facts on the trains as well as the MODEL trains. they have a thomas the train engine table set up for the little ones which I could never pull my son away from. The most awesome thing ever is at christmas time they have the POLAR EXPRESS train ride. 2 years ago we took both of my kids and the entire expierence was wonderful. To see their eyes light up was worth all of it. hot chocolate the story read and SANTA who gave them all the christmas bell. they got their tickets punched and the whole bit.

Muir Beach
Shoreline Hwy and Redwood Creek,
Muir Beach,
California
This beach is somewhat secluded. If you didn't know what you were looking for you might miss it. This beach is my parents favorite. If your looking to get away from it all and want quiet and seclusion this is for you .Not many waves sinces its in a cove like area. the walk from the car to a good spot to set up is kind of long and the sand is deep and could be a little exhausting. there are only porta pottys that pretty much stink bad in summertime and some bees. I dont take my kids here because like I said its more quiet and secluded not too kid friendly

Stinson Beach Park
Highway 1 and Panoramic Highway,
Stinson Beach,
California 94970
This beach is our favorite for many reasons, first and foremost its very close to our house. so aside from us being lucky enough to live so close this beach it has a lot to offer. The beach itself is very large and goes on for a long time. There are lifeguards there in the summertime. There are bathrooms and showers as well as a little beach grill. The water can be ruff and there is a undertoe. If you enjoy just wading and playing in the sand this is the beach for you. There are problems with Great white sharks that often frequent the waters. They haven't had a shark attack in about 10 years. Although sharks are seen there on a regular basis. There is quiet a lot of parking and a great picnic area, we had our daughters 2nd birthday here. this is our beach to go to in northern california.

Pinecrest Campground
421 Pinecrest lake dr,
Pinecrest,
California 95364
We had a great time here in late August! The campgrounds were packed but they were far apart. The lake is pretty large and has a few beaches. You can hike all around the lake and find little inlets where you can stop and fish. the water is very clear and crisp and cold. It can get pretty deep though. At the campgrounds they have a theatre for family movie night. My kids loved it here so much. In fact my husband is going back this spring to take our older kids fishing.

Sand Harbor beach, Lake Tahoe
Highway 28, south of Incline Village,
Incline Village,
Nevada
I haven't really found an area of Lake Tahoe that we dont love. This is a good picnic beach and a good area for little ones to play in the water. Its nice and warm not a lot of shade on the lakeshore but enough in the picnic area. My kids had a lot of fun here and we would go back again.
