San Francisco Zoo
1 Zoo Road,
Sloat Boulevard at Forty-fifth Avenue,
San Francisco,
California 94132
Probably my favorite zoo, this is a great park!! The size is enormous, so there is soooo much to see! They also have a special; the first Wednesday (I believe) of the month is free admission. Last time we went we had such a blast, and we saved money by eating at a restaurant across the street. Wear comfy shoes, as there is a ton of walking!! My favorite is the penguin area!

California Academy of Sciences
55 Music Concourse Drive,
San Francisco,
California 94118
This is probably one of the best aquariums I've ever been to! The line to get in can be long, but they have a booth out front where you can buy your tickets and get in a shorter line, which moves pretty fast. The place itself is huge, and you probably won't get to see everything in one day, but there is a lot you will see! There is a rainforest exhibit, but we didn't get to go in that one, as the line was 2.5 hours long! It looked cool, though! There are tons of children's activities, a restaurant where you can eat an expensive lunch, and even an outside viewing of the rooftop vegetation! Wear comfy shoes, too... my feet were KILLING me at the end of the day! Overall, though, it's definitely worth it for the education and fun you'll have!

The Elfin Forest
North End of 15th or 16th Street Off Santa Ysabel,
Los Osos,
California 93402
First I have to say that this isn't really a "forest." It's more of a wooded trail surrounded by trees and nature. It is very beautiful, though. Located in Los Osos, the trail starts out by choosing from two different paths. If you choose to go left, the walk is not as strenuous, but if you go left it is harder with an uphill climb that can be difficult if you are not in shape. There are benches to stop and rest, but no restrooms, so make sure to go before you head out.

Arroyo Grande Strawberry Festival
On Grand Avenue in Old Town Arroyo Grande,
Arroyo Grande,
California
"Very crowded, but still worthwhile"
This little festival takes place in downtown Arroyo Grande every May. There are lots of booths and activities, but not that much strawberry-related stuff. I like festivals like the Gilroy Garlic festival, where you can find almost every type of food made with garlic. It's still fun, and the weather is always nice, but be prepared for crowds! The strawberry shortcakes are yummy, but on the expensive side, so make sure you bring some cash. Parking can be tough... you may have to walk a little, otherwise you can take the free shuttle.

River Walk
E. Commerce St.,
San Antonio,
Texas 78205
I LOVE the riverwalk!! This is such a beautiful, fun place to visit. There are shops and restaurants all along this gorgeous little river surrounded by trees and wooden bridges. I highly recommend going at night, because the entire riverwalk is all lit up by lights in the trees! You can even go for a gondola ride!
