Acadia National Park

"Amazing kid friendly National Park"
Our family had a wonderful time at Acadia National Park. We were traveling with 3 kids ages 7, 5 and 1. The park is wonderful because it has so many short, easy hikes for the kids that go somewhere. We all know that motivating kids to hike can be difficult at times when there is no "destination". We found really amazing views and things to see on every hike. My kids had a great time playing in tidepools and climbing on rocks near the ocean. We were traveling with extended family and there was really something for everyone at this park. Most of the mountains have granite at the tops so there are amazing views. The kids REALLY enjoyed the "tidepool school" run by the Park rangers. It was very educational and hands on. There is a free shuttle bus service that can take you from your campsite to the park which is great if you are not interested in driving around. Be aware that we traveled during the hottest weeks of the year and the ocean temp was still 55, so don't plan on swimming in the ocean. You can go to the Echo lake section of the national park, The kids really enjoyed swimming there where the water was warmer.

Akron Zoo

"Wonderful recently renovated zoo"
Growing up in Akron, I have been to the Akron zoo many times. I remember it being small and old, but not anymore! It has been beautifully restored and is a hidden treasure to all who visit NE Ohio. Located a few minutes from downtown, the zoo is easily accessable and has convenient parking. This zoo is built on a hill so be sure to bring a stroller if you think your little one might get tired out. We had the treat of hearing the lions roar once we were at the zoo. My kids loved every minute in this zoo. It is one of our absolute favorite zoos and we visit everytime we are in town. When you are done with the zoo, don't forget to stop at Swenson's drive in for THE best burgers in NE Ohio.

Anheuser-Busch Factory Tour and Clydesdale Hamlet
221 Daniel Webster Highway,
Merrimack,
New Hampshire 03054
"Afternoon of fun with the clydesdales"
Merrimack, New Hampshire is home to one of the Anheuser Busch factories and their famous Clydesdale horses. They have a free brewery tour that we took our 6 year old, 4 year old and 8 month old. They have stroller access on the tour. The tour moves pretty quickly and begins with seeing the grain that arrives to the factory in railroad cars. At the end of the tour, each adult can taste two beers and the kids can enjoy complementary pretzels and sodas. The kids favorite part of the day was going to see the Budweiser clydesdale horses. They are housed in a beautiful European looking facility complete with beautiful wood paneled stalls. We were lucky enough to be able to see two of the horses being groomed in the shower area which was the highlight of the trip for the kids. Although I wouldn't recommend dedicating a whole trip to this location, it is a fun thing to do in Southern New Hampshire if you are already in the area.

Boston Children’s Museum
300 Congress Street,
Boston,
Massachusetts 02210
"Great for kids and adults! "
Our 6 year old and 4 year old loved their time at the Children's museum. Three floors of wonderful activities and learning. Their favorite spot was the dodgeball game on the 2nd floor. The only difficulty I had was finding a place to nurse our baby. In the future, we would leave the stroller in the car and use an infant carrier, especially on busy days.
