Massachusetts State House, a Freedom Trail Site
Beacon Street and Park Street,
Boston,
Massachusetts 02108
The Freedom Trail is not for young kids as there is a ton of walking and more 'mature' content. However, you can spin it so that it is interesting for the young. The long walk would be the most challenging. Regardless, the State House is beautiful, both inside and out. You can just stop by, no need to do the whole Freedom Trail!

TD Banknorth Garden
100 Causeway Street,
Boston,
Massachusetts 02114
Getting tickets to [sporting] events at the Garden can be difficult and expensive, but to see some of the best basketball players there are, it's worth it! The venue itself isn't all that amazing, just standard expensive food and drink, but going to watch the Celtics is well worth it!

MIT Museum

"Another "Harvard" place to stop"
This museum is a fun alternative to all the others in the area (Science Museum, Children's). It is less busy and offers a different take on things. I wouldn't bring toddlers/preschoolers here for much, but the exhibits are fun and interactive! And there are plenty of things close by to see too!

Kimball Farm--Miniature Golf
400 Littleton Road,
Westford,
Massachusetts 01886
"HUGE amounts of ice cream"
Be warned before ordering, the portions are gigantic. Some may be a fan of this (as it does seem to be more reasonable than other ice cream shops given how much you get) but a small is WAY too much for a kid to consume.
That being said, it's a fun little outing to go to Kimballs. Mini golf is always fun and even more enjoyable with ice cream at the end!

The Mugar Omni Theater
1 Science Park ,
Boston,
Massachusetts 02114
This movie theater is similar to IMAX, but in a dome. You get the sensation that you are moving right along with the film, but this theater existed way before all the IMAX theaters did! While the movies tend to be 45 minutes, the tickets aren't insanely expensive for a fun viewing. They often have a few different movies to choose from and while you're waiting to be seated, you can see the film strips actually working.
