Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel
1150 W Magic Way,
Anaheim,
California
A must-do if you have small children. Located inside the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, CA. Fun, interactive dining experience for families. Reservations are a must! Pricey, but worth it if you have little ones, they'll love it. An all-you-can-eat buffet including peanut butter and jelly pizza, Mickey Mouse waffles and more. Lots of healthy options too if you are a dieting parent. Omelet bar, etc. Plenty of opportunities to take photos with your favorite Disney Characters. They come around to every table and spend a moment to pose for pictures with your kids. Every 30 minutes or so they have a fun activity, like gathering kids for an impromptu, interactive music jam with Goofy. Kids are given small musical instruments and encouraged to play along with the Disney characters in the middle of the restaurant.

Black Bear Diner

"Black Bear Diner. Great for kids!"
If you are traveling with or without kids from L.A. to Yosemite and want to stop half way for a bite a eat, I would recommend the Black Bear Diner. Black Bear Diner is a cute family dining experience, providing excellent food and value, served in a fun, uniquely bear theme atmosphere. Lots of comfort food! Loved that they offer a "smaller portions" menu for smaller adult appetites and seniors. Great to have the option of ordering adult menu items in lesser sized portions without it being kid menu fare. They do have a kids menu (Cubs menu). Worth a trip for the food and all the cute bear decor. Make sure to sit in the bear theme cubby hole booth!

Wawona in Yosemite

"Dinner in the Wawona Hotel"
We had dinner in the Wawona Hotel. Charming setting, very turn of the century. Victorian decor. The menu and atmosphere is more for adults, not too kid friendly. After dinner, we retreated to the salon just off the hotel lobby for wine and dessert & to listen to live piano and hear the piano man tell stories about the history of the century old hotel. Great for adults, not much fun for kids or teens.

Sledz-CLOSED

"Fun sledding for the family"
We enjoyed this! March of 2008, it was $20 per person, per hour and 1 hour was plenty of time. We arrived right before it opened so it wasn't crowded yet, so we had it almost all to ourselves for that hour, by the time our hour was up, it started to get crowded and there a brief wait in line to get pulled up the hill on the cable. I would definitely recommend getting there early to avoid crowds and get the most sledding time! Great family time. Good for kids age 4+.
