Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament
2001 N. Roselle Road,
Schaumburg,
Illinois 60195
This was a fun experience if you are somebody who likes to be loud and shout.
If celebrating a birthday, they will try to get you to pay extra for a "special announcement." Just know the special announcement is simply them reading off the birthday person's name quickly right along with the other 100 people who they convinced to pay the extra fee...Not worth it in my opinion.
I would recommend not bringing any child younger than elementary-aged.

Morton Arboretum
4100 Illinois Route 53,
Lisle,
Illinois 60532
We have not had the chance to explore beyond the kids area.
I went on a field trip with 90+ kindergartners...they LOVED it...we couldn't have stayed long enough for them. Great for kids of all ages...no stroller necessary if you just plan to stay in the kids area.
Kind of expensive, but the kids love it!

BrookField Zoo
3300 Golf Road ,
Brookfield,
Illinois 60513
We have gotten season passes to this zoo since our 8-year-old was 2. Hamilton Family Zoo (costs extra from general admission) always has fun things for the kids to do.
The new bear exhibit is awesome...very well thought out and taken care of.
Great for kids of all ages.
Be sure to pack a lunch and save $ on food. Bring an umbrella stroller if you plan to ride the trams; only small umbrella strollers will be allowed on the trams.
Skip the dolphin show.

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground
4510 North Fort Wilderness Trail,
Lake Buena Vista,
Florida 32830
We have stayed several times at the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. For wilderness lovers who have families, the log cabins are the perfect place to stay at Disney.
Here are some things to note:
It is definitely beneficial to rent the golf cart to get around...It is much more convenient than waiting for a busing throughout the resort area, which may or may not be crowded. It also allows you the opportunity to really explore the grounds. There are tons of fun activities at the resort and a nice beach area too.
The downside to staying at this resort is there are limited possibilities as far as restaurants/food/shops...if you need quick and 24-hour access to food/drinks, this is not a good choice. The upside is the cabins have kitchen/fridge/microwave/stove/oven, so you can stock up before arriving and save money over park prices!

The Field Museum
1400 S. Lake Shore Dr.,
Chicago,
Illinois 60605
I found out the hard way that this museum is not at all stroller friendly. Me, plus my 3-year-old, plus my 1-year-old did not at all equal fun! There are no elevators to the basement (the Egypt exhibit) and I had to carry a baby on one shoulder and a folded up double stroller on the other shoulder down a very long, narrow, and crowded spiral staircase, all the while worrying that my 3-year-old was going to fall down the steps...then, we had to walk back up the stairs when we were done.
There is a general admission fee, but (again) there are exhibits that you must pay for if you want to see them. If you go, I would plan to pay the extra money for those exhibits, as they are good exhibits. It can get costly for a family to visit this museum.
The exhibits are more appropriate for older elementary-aged children. I prefer the Museum of Science and Industry over this museum if you are going with children.
